This 1955 Chevrolet 210 blends unmistakable Tri-Five styling with a
thoughtfully upgraded drivetrain, refreshed interior, and extensive
mechanical improvements. Finished in a beautiful two-tone blue and
white, the car retains the clean, timeless appearance that makes
the 1955 Chevrolet so recognizable. It is currently titled in
Indiana and was purchased from its previous owner in Boise, Idaho,
approximately three years ago. Chrome bumpers, brightwork, and
polished wheels complement the two-tone finish and give the car a
classic hot-rod appearance.
Originally built with a six-cylinder engine and Powerglide
automatic transmission, the original powertrain has been replaced
with a rebuilt 327ci Chevrolet V8 producing approximately 325
horsepower. The engine has roughly 200 miles on the rebuild and is
backed by a TH350 automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit.
Power is sent through a 10-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.55
gears, Moser axles, and traction bars.
Under the hood, the presentation is especially clean. The engine
compartment is nicely finished and uncluttered, with neatly routed
wiring and plumbing, black accessory-drive components, an aluminum
radiator, and a power brake booster. The combination of the
Chevrolet-orange small block, polished aluminum components, and
predominantly black accessories gives the engine bay a tidy,
purposeful appearance.
The chassis has received considerable attention as well. The front
end features new upper and lower control arms, springs, shocks, and
steering components. Power steering makes the car considerably
easier to maneuver, while power brakes with front discs provide
improved stopping performance. The upgraded rear end and traction
bars complement the additional power from the 327.
Inside is a fresh Delray-style two-tone blue and white interior
that ties in beautifully with the exterior. The upholstery, door
panels, and carpeting have all been renewed, while the
original-style dash and steering wheel preserve the unmistakable
mid-century Chevrolet character. A modern stereo has been neatly
integrated into the dash, along with auxiliary gauges mounted below
it for additional engine monitoring.
Additional upgrades include LED headlights that provide improved
visibility while fitting cleanly into the classic front-end design.
Overall, this 1955 Chevrolet 210 combines the appearance and
character of a traditional Tri-Five with a stronger small-block V8,
automatic transmission, Positraction rear end, upgraded brakes and
steering, refreshed interior, and a particularly well-presented
engine compartment.
