For Sale: 1976 Chevrolet Corvette in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1976 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

In 1976, the Apple Computer Company was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. The two dollar bill was introduced on Thomas Jefferson's 233rd birthday. The entire country celebrated the Bicentennial, the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. And the 1976 Corvette saw an 8% increase in horsepower and set new sales records.

For consignment, a 1976 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with a title verified 42,073 actual miles numbers matching drivetrain and a two stage application of its vibrant original color.

Note: Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area

Exterior
If you lined up the hundreds of Corvettes that have passed through our halls over the years, the handful of yellow cars visually stand out. This one is no exception with its Bright Yellow coat, here in two stage application and while C3's look good in just about any color, yellow is easily the most eye catching, traveling over the coke bottle curves of this beauty and allowing the iconic quartette of tail lights esthetically pop as they reside in their urethane coves. Polished accents include the horizontal door handles, side mirrors, windshield reveal, and with the T-tops off, the T-top frame itself. A pair of polished exhaust tips add some reflective appeal in the back and the 15-inch aluminum slot wheels with letters out tires look fantastic. Some imperfections noted include some chips throughout, some of which are touched up, cracking paint, a scuff on bumper guard, and some off color areas noted on the nose piece.

Interior
Black door panels greet entrants of the car with an accent woodgrain panel, a carpeted lower wedge and an armrest and everything is canted down towards the back creating ideal ergonomics for occupants sitting in the bucket seats and both present are in great shape. Tall backed leather buckets with pleated patterned inserts reside in the cockpit with some wear on the passenger seat. A 4 spoke steering wheel front textured molded plastic that creates the dashboard and houses two large gauges in the sightline of the driver while the center stack, also clean, displays five small gauges in a pod that always reminds us of an aircraft. An AM/FM/Cassette radio is present as well and the front passenger has pockets in lieu of a glove box on their side of the dash. There's a crack in the speaker of the dash pad while more woodgrain surrounds the shifter and climate control wheels on the center console and an L82 plaque is embedded in that base, all in good shape. Black carpet covers the floor and rear cargo area.

Drivetrain
A clean presentation is found under the hood where you'll find the numbers matching 350ci L82 V8, rated at 210 horsepower and fueled by a 4-barrel carburetor. It's mated to its numbers matching T10 4-speed manual transmission that routes power the limited slip differential with 3.36 gears.

Undercarriage
Despite some sludge and typical oxidation, the underside also presents cleanly. Power disc brakes are found on all four wheels and the dual exhaust travels through stock style mufflers just before emitting chrome tips. There is no catalytic converter attached. Suspension includes coil springs up front and Corvette's complex system of a frame mounted differential, tubular axle drive shafts, transverse strut rods, torque control arms, and transverse leaf springs in back.

Drive-Ability
The original drivetrain fires right up and does what its been doing for 49 years; taking occupants on the thrill ride that includes race car inspired handling and a sporty cockpit that is simply fun to be in. We note the horn, heater blower, clock, and A/C are not working but all other functions available to the pilot work as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Here's a nicely presented '76 in a fantastic color, clean interior, and of course, numbers matching drivetrain. If a C3 has been on your wish list, this one is more than worthy of your attention.
