This 1959 Austin-Healey Bug-Eye Sprite has been with the previous owner for over 25 years until sold to the current owner in 2017. Over $10,000 was spent on parts and labor under current ownership with receipts and Over $11k was spent in 2015 on mechanical reconditioning including a performance-focused rebuild of the 948cc inline-four with larger valves, oversized pistons, 1 1/2" SU carburetors, electronic ignition, and other work performed by British Sports Cars in San Luis Obispo, California. The 4-speed transmission is a later ribcase design unit. Other modifications include front disc brakes, larger front sway bars, and a wood dash. Service records dating from 2005 are included with the sale along with the soft top, side curtains, and a tonneau cover. Power is provided by a 948cc inline-four backed by a later rib-case 4-speed manual transmission. In 2015, the engine was rebuilt with oversized pistons, larger valves, a performance camshaft, and more as detailed in the invoice shown in the gallery.
