Offered for sale is a beautifully restored 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 SportsRoof featuring its original numbers-matching M-code 351 Windsor 4V V8, original factory 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission. The car also retains its original rear differential with a factory 3.25 Traction-Lok axle. Drive train is all original for this Mach 1.
This Mach 1 has undergone an extensive ground-up restoration with considerable attention given to the body, drivetrain, engine compartment, suspension, undercarriage and interior. The underside presents exceptionally well, with restored suspension and steering components, a detailed rear axle and driveline, clean floors, exhaust system and fuel tank. The engine compartment is equally well presented, with the 351 finished in Ford blue and complemented by a period-style 351 air cleaner. An upgraded aluminum radiator has been added for improved drivability and cooling.
The interior features the Black Clarion Knit/Vinyl Mach 1 Hi-Back bucket seats specified on the Marti Report, along with woodgrain trim, center console, clock, Mach 1 badging, three-spoke steering wheel and Hurst-shifted 4-speed manual transmission. The black interior is accented by red inserts integrated into the carpeting.
Documentation includes a Deluxe Marti Report, original window sticker and extensive restoration receipts. According to the Marti Report, the car was built at Ford’s Dearborn assembly plant on October 28, 1968 and was originally delivered through Gough Motors Inc. in Struthers, Ohio.
Factory equipment documented by the Marti Report includes the M-code 351-4V V8, four-speed wide-ratio manual transmission, 3.25 Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, Visibility Group, AM radio and E70x14 belted tires and with upgraded AM/FM and Bluetooth radio.
The car was originally finished in Indian Fire (Y5) with black-out hood treatment and has since been refinished in its current red with black Mach 1 graphics during the restoration. The color change is fully disclosed and documented by the Marti Report.
This is a highly documented, extensively restored example of one of Ford’s most recognizable muscle cars. It combines the desirable M-code 351, factory four-speed, original drivetrain components and extensive documentation with an exceptionally clean presentation throughout.
