1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 - 351W V8 4-Speed Project 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 project with a crate 351W V8 reportedly rated at 350+ horsepower by the previous owner. The engine runs great, but the car is currently not drivable while the interior, steering, brakes, and 4-speed conversion are being completed. The car was originally equipped with factory A/C. The conversion now includes a new 4-speed transmission, new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing, along with a high-amp alternator, electric water pump and electric cooling fan. A Retrosound radio is also included. Current condition includes: Upper and lower dash removed Gauge cluster needs replacement Steering column and pedal box removed Brake booster and master cylinder removed New 4-speed transmission installed with only a couple bolts currently securing it Mechanical clutch linkage will not work with the headers; a hydraulic clutch kit will be needed Wiring harness is in very good condition Factory A/C car; condenser included, but compressor and lines are missing The seller states that everything needed to put the car back together is included. The odometer is broken and shows 123,456 miles, so actual mileage is unknown. Clean title.
