Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present
this 1970 Chevrolet Camaro, finished in Classic Copper Metallic
over a Black interior. This second-generation Camaro combines its
unmistakable split-bumper styling with an extensive collection of
drivetrain, suspension, braking, cooling, and comfort upgrades.
Under the hood is a fuel-injected Ram Jet 350 V8 paired with a
3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic transmission. Supporting
the engine is a GM serpentine belt system, Jim's AutoRad aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans, polyurethane engine and
transmission mounts, headers, and a Rick's 18-gallon stainless fuel
tank with a GM billet pump.
The chassis is built around a Heidt's Pro-G front and rear
suspension system featuring adjustable coilovers, Pro-G
high-horsepower half shafts, and sub-frame connectors. Power is
sent to a 3.70 Posi rear end, while Detroit Speed body mounts are
also incorporated into the setup.
Braking is handled by a Hydrotech/Bosch/Wilwood power disc brake
system featuring a Wilwood master cylinder and proportioning valve
along with slotted and drilled rotors. Power rack-and-pinion
steering is equipped with TCI stainless hoses and a flow reducer,
complementing the upgraded suspension and braking components.
The Classic Copper Metallic exterior is paired with 18-inch Foose
aluminum wheels and the Camaro's distinctive split-bumper front-end
treatment. As a fun piece of Camaro history, 1970 introduced the
completely redesigned second-generation Camaro. The split-bumper
appearance became one of the most recognizable styling cues
associated with the Rally Sport-style front end of these early
second-generation cars.
This Camaro is also accompanied by an extensive collection of
paperwork in a binder. Included are items such as the original
owner's manual, warranty booklet, a letter from the original owner,
the purchase money security agreement, and additional documentation
that has been retained with the car.
Inside, the Black cabin features Corbeau bucket seats with lumbar
support, AutoMeter gauges, Nu-Relics power windows, and a Gen V
Vintage Air A/C system. A complete American Autowire wiring harness
has also been installed, while the refinished trunk houses a
rear-mounted battery.
