For Sale: 1956 Ford F100 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1956 Ford F100 Pickup

The introduction of the Ford F-series in 1948 sparked a flame destined to grow into a roaring fire by the turn of the 21st century. Over 100,000 of these trucks left the factory every year between 1953 and 1956, retaining the standard trim levels of F-100 to F-900. Of course, the most popular models were still the F-100, with the trucks finding their ways into suburban driveways en masse for the first time.

For consignment, a 1956 Ford F100 pickup truck with the unknown true miles due to uncalibrated odometer, however our consignor states the truck only has about 100 miles since complete restoration. Here's a truck that puts fresh greens back on the table!

Exterior
Two stage Meadow Green paint adorns this rig which allows the red emblems to pop off the surface like beacons, beginning with the crest on the nose of the hood and the Ford F100 arrow on each side. The stupendous grille perfectly matches the 15-inch wheels in what we'll call a white closer to Ford's Wimbledon hue. A flat front bumper in glossy black is also in great condition while the bed is lined with beautiful oak planks and stainless bed strips. We're not putting anything back here but our eyes! Entry to the bed is made possible by a solid green tailgate flanked by external tail lights over a bumper delete back end. Exhaust tips are skillfully and modestly contoured into the running boards. The fresh restoration shows just two imperfections; some staining below the fuel filler and some minor inclusions on the left bed rail.

Interior
The inner doors are painted steel and retain the exterior color and present spotlessly. Inside, a tan vinyl bench seat also looks fantastic and up front, a classic three spoke steering wheel fronts a gray green dashboard with an updated instrument cluster, billet and black and backlit in indigo. The paint of the upper dash and wrap arounds is glossy and clean and the floor is perfectly covered by a black rubber mat. A gray vinyl headliner cascades down to cover the rear pillars and surrounds the solid window.

Drivetrain
More color added to the palette with a clean, bright yellow 272ci V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor and 3-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to a Dana 44 rear axle with 3.73 gears. The truck runs on a 12 volt system with a regulator.

Undercarriage
Let's bring some blue into the mix with the shock absorbers at each corner of this super clean underside. And like Bob Ross, we'll add some happy silver in the form of a single exhaust through a stock style muffler that terminates under the bed. Leaf spring suspension is utilized front and rear and so are drum brakes.

Drive-Ability
We take this rolling piece of artwork around the test loop where it performs just as well as it looks with good power, straight tracking, and a comfortable cabin. We note the wipers don't work, the electronic odometer needs calibrating and the brake lights occasionally stay on. Outside of that, all functions on this simple and spotless truck operate as expected. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

This truck presents as better than new, but just imagine picking this baby up from the dealer in 1956 knowing full well it was about to get dinged, dented, dirty, and daily driven to work! It didn't phase the workmen of 1956 and they likely had no ideas that this would one day be a coveted classic. This is a top tier restoration that's ready for show!
