As noted on a copy of its original Data Card, this sporting 250 SL was delivered new in Italy on 15 February 1967, finished in seldom-selected Arabian Grey over Cognac MB-Tex, with a Black folding soft top and color-matched hardtop. Specified with sporting intent, it carries a short 4.08-to-1 rear axle ratio and the rare ZF five-speed manual transmission, believed to be one of fewer than 112 examples, pairing blistering acceleration with relaxed highway cruising via the overdrive fifth gear.

The car is reported to have been retained by its original owner until 1982, when its second owner brought it across the Atlantic to the United States. It was refinished in Black in 1984, as presented today, with a new Cognac soft top fitted in 2015, before the current owner acquired the SL in 2023 after 41 years in that ownership.

In May 2024, Wolfgang's INC of Tenafly, New Jersey performed service work, replacing the brake booster, brake master cylinder, shifter bushings, exhaust hangers, and turn signal/wiper stalk for just over $4,000, alongside wood trim restoration, a Becker Europa radio Bluetooth upgrade, and new original-style rubber floor coverings.

Most recently, in July 2026, JFrazar Sports Car Services of Savannah, Georgia completed a $6,260.27 inspection and major service that included work to the injection pump, replacing an injector, and upgrading the ignition with a Pertronix electronic unit. Further attention included an oil and filter change, chassis lubrication, inspection of the transmission and differential, repair of the cold start air bypass valve and windshield wipers, and the fitment of four new Hankook tires and a new steering damper.

Today, the Pagoda's charming styling and driving character have cemented its status as a highly sought-after collector's car, rarely found equipped with the sporting five-speed manual from new. It offers a rare opportunity to experience the beloved "W113" in this desirable five-speed configuration, with its European-market lighting adding further period charm.
