1994 Toyota Land Cruiser KZJ73 is a left-hand-drive European-spec
model that was sold new in Southern France on February 16, 1995.
Originally manufactured in June of 1994 at the Japanese Land
Cruiser production facility before being shipped to France be
offered for sale. Car Cave purchased this LC from Monsieur Laurent,
located in Saint-Marcel-l?s-Valence, France.
Saint-Marcel-l?s-Valence is located about an hour south of Lyon in
the Drome department part of AURA (Auvergne-Rh?ne-Alpes region). We
like this southern French region due its climate with mild (rarely
snows) winters and on the same latitude as Italy. The KZJ73 shown
here is an excellent example of our favorite 70 Series, shown in
Black which was a full tear-down respray by the previous owner. The
FRP roof and fender flares were both refinished in the same color
with the 'Land Cruiser' logo on the roof painted in a contrasting
red. The KZJ73 was only built for the European market for 3 years,
making it treasured and hard to find especially in this full cabrio
configuration. What does that mean? The rear cargo doors have
removable top glass which converts to half doors when the top is
removed. Most of the 73 models feature a one-piece door leaving the
rear door glass intact when removing the roof. The rear 'half
doors' are one of the most sought after OEM parts for a 73 mdoel. We
enjoy driving this model due to the smooth riding Terrain Tamer
coil springs (in comparison to the leaf springs on the BJ, FJ, FZJ,
and HZJ) and engine with lots of pep. Europe was the only market
lucky enough to receive the left-hand-drive, coil-sprung KZJ73
equipped with the 1KZ-T engine. The 1KZ-T (as opposed to the 1KZ-TE
found in Australia, Japan, and several other markets) features the
sought-after mechanical injection pump and was built without an EGR
valve?a major advantage when driving at interstate speed, tuning,
and for keeping exhaust gas temperatures down.Upgrades and

AdjustmentA 3.0L turbo diesel powers this Land Cruiser, mated to a
five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The
smooth-running, ultra-reliable Toyota 1KZ-T is a 2,982cc single
overhead cam, indirect injection turbo diesel. The timing belt has
been replaced recently. The factory front hubs were factory push
button activated and now converted to a more reliable Aisin manual
hub. The transfer case is high range push-button 4WD and a
floor-shifted transfer case for low-range situations.Aftermarket
upgrades on this Land Cruiser are limited to a Terrain Tamer lift
kit, touchscreen radio, rear tow hook, and updated from hubs. The
tires are taller and wider than factory but still have excellent on
and offroad manners. The KZJ73 drives exceptionally well in both
stock or lifted form both on and off-road. The FRP hard top can be
unbolted and removed with underneath is a factory-integrated roll
cage, allowing rear passengers to enjoy the safety of three-point
seatbelts. The grey carpets and Grey Moon Mist cloth interior are
in great condition for a 30 year old KZJ.Factory options include
power locks, power steering, a center console, power windows, tilt
steering wheel, rear barn doors, rear wiper, digital clock, and
rear defrost. The original factory Toyota altimeter and
inclinometer are still present. The vehicle is currently fitted
with 265/75R15 Goodyear Wranlgler AT tires mounted on the factory
15' alloys which is a great look. The removable top and integrated
roll cage make this a versatile platform, and several aftermarket
suppliers offer soft top kits to further customize this vehicle.
The windshield can be adapted to fold down onto the hood?perfect
for a throwback overlanding experience with the wind in your face.

modify them to suit any vision.Body Data Plate InformationModel:
