For Sale: 1959 MG MGA in Savannah, Georgia

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1959 MG MGA 1600 Mk I Roadster. This MGA underwent a frame-off restoration under prior ownership and still presents to a very nice standard inside and out. Excellent paint quality over a straight and solid body; door fitment and panel gaps are quite good. It's particularly attractive in black over beige interior. Factory steel wheels with hubcaps are wearing whitewall radial tires. Bumpers, chrome, trim, and lenses have all been restored. Very clean underneath with newer floor boards and no observed rust.

Interior was likewise fully restored to a nice standard with new carpets, floor mats, door cards, crash roll, and seat upholstery. Gorgeous three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel. Gauges are clear and working. Canvas tonneau was purchased in 2024 and fits beautifully with all snaps working. A convertible top frame is included with the sale.

Under the hood is a 1588 cc four cylinder engine mated to four-speed manual transmission. Based on the chassis number (70922), this is a late 1959 production car (the first MGA 1600 was chassis number 68851 produced in May of 1959). In addition to the larger engine, the 1600 also was fitted from the factory with front disk brakes. This MGA starts easily and runs and drives great (tracks straight and stops straight, as well) - the chassis feels particularly composed.
