GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this big-block 1972 Chevrolet
Corvette for your consideration. This Corvette comes finished in
Steel Cities Gray over a Black interior and is powered by its
numbers-matching 454 cubic-inch V8. Power is sent through a 4-speed
manual transmission and put to the ground through a 3.08:1 rear
axle. This Corvette was body-on restored in the late 1990s. It
features factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes,
rear defogger, shoulder harness, AM/FM stereo, removable T-tops,
wood trim interior, and chrome front and rear bumpers. The car
rides on new radial tires and has received new front and rear brake
pads and lines, as well as a new fuel tank. Most all of the
components on this Corvette are factory correct, and it is
accompanied by numerous invoices along with restoration photos
documenting its history. This is a well-preserved and thoughtfully
restored example of the iconic C3 Corvette, with a desirable
big-block V8, 4-speed manual transmission, and an excellent
collection of documentation. Drive this one out of our showroom or
have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United
States! Don't hesitate to call us with any questions or for more
information.
The 1972 Chevrolet Corvette was part of the third-generation
Corvette, commonly known as the C3, which was introduced for the
1968 model year. Chevrolet continued to offer the Corvette as both
a coupe and convertible in 1972, with the coupe featuring the
distinctive removable T-top roof panels that had become a hallmark
of the generation. The 454 cubic inch V8 remained available for
1972, although horsepower ratings had decreased from the earlier
big-block Corvettes as Chevrolet continued adapting to changing
emissions requirements and industry standards. The 1972 model year
was also notable as the final year for the Corvette's chrome front
and rear bumpers, giving these cars a particularly recognizable
appearance among C3 enthusiasts. With its long hood, short rear
deck, removable T-tops, and muscular proportions, the C3 Corvette
remains one of the most recognizable American sports cars of the
era.
