The Bel Air name already existed but 1955 marked a huge automotive historical change for Chevrolet. This was a big turning point in design with a new boxier styling with incorporated fenders that would be the main look going forward. This was considered a major success and was the first popular model they offered with an optional V8. This was also the first time they adopted the 12 volt system allowing for more advanced electrical and power options. They captivated the American market and easily outsold their rival Ford. This 1955 is a nice custom restomod that has some very unique features. It is the 210 2 door post model but with some modifications that classic 50's look has become a full blown hot rod. A car you would once see sitting outside a 50's diner now has a high performance drivetrain and aggressive exterior. The body is all solid and painted in a bright 1992 Hyundai Chrome Yellow paint that will turn heads wherever you take it. The original stainless trim and emblems have a nice shine but to add to the hot rod appearance the front/rear bumpers and famous egg crate grill have been Blacked out. The glass is in good condition throughout and is tinted. The lights all work properly and it has the old school blue dot taillights in back. The car rides on 5 spoke chrome wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and it has a wider tire in back to let you know it means business.

Turning those tires is the powerful 468 ci Big Block V8 motor that makes this street machine extremely fun to drive. It has all the power you could want and was built up with a Scat rotating assembly, competition cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, Accel distributor, and a Holley Performance carburetor. It isn't all just muscle though because it looks good too with an old school hot rod style Edelbrock air cleaner and Dart valve covers. Keeping it running cool is the aftermarket aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The rest of the drivetrain can handle the power with a Turbo 350 transmission (2800-3200 stall) and a GM 10 bolt rear end. The rear out of an '85 4 wheel drive blazer and has 3.73 gears. Traction bars have been added so when you are ready to put your foot on the pedal the car is ready to launch. The front clip is out of a 1976 Camaro and it has power steering. Underneath the car is very solid with rust free solid floors.

The interior of the car has been redone in all Black and has been kept fairly simplistic. It has dual bucket seats that sit to each side of a center console that provides extra storage and cupholders. The dash is painted Black and is mostly stock but an underdash Equus gauge cluster has been added. In the trunk is an aluminum fuel cell as well as the relocated battery.

This is an incredibly unique '55 Chevy with a very cool style you don't see often. You see these cars built in many different ways but when this one comes rumbling through the parking lot and you open the hood to reveal the big block motor you are sure to draw a crowd.
