This 1969 Ford Bronco Sport combines the unmistakable styling of an
early Bronco with a well-selected group of mechanical and comfort
upgrades that make it far more usable than a stock example.
Finished in brilliant red with contrasting black hardware, it has
an aggressive stance while still retaining the simple, purposeful
character that made the first-generation Bronco an icon.
Under the hood is an ATK 302ci Ford V8 with approximately 38,000
miles, equipped with an Edelbrock 1902 AVS2 500 CFM four-barrel
carburetor and Edelbrock 2121 dual-plane intake manifold. Ignition
upgrades include a billet distributor, Flame-Thrower coil, spark
plugs, and plug wires installed in 2021. The engine compartment
also features an aluminum radiator and a clean, straightforward
installation designed for dependable street use.
Backing the 302 is a C4 automatic transmission that was
professionally overhauled by Randy's Transmission in February 2021.
A replacement transmission pan and locking dipstick were
subsequently installed. Four-wheel-drive duties are handled by a
Spicer Dana 20 transfer case, with a Dana 30 front axle and Ford
9-inch rear, both running 4.10 gearing. The rear differential is
noted as an open unit.
The Bronco has benefited from considerable mechanical attention. In
November 2020, the braking system received an extensive overhaul
including a power brake booster, master cylinder, proportioning
valve, calipers, discs, brake lines, and fresh fluid. Body-mount
bushings and hardware were also replaced. More recently, service
performed in May 2026 included an oil and filter change, new fuel
pump, transmission drain and refill, and new transmission
modulator.
Cooling and climate-control systems have also been addressed. In
2023 the radiator was flushed, a new 160-degree thermostat was
installed, and the Vintage Air A/C system was evacuated, serviced
with dye/oil, and recharged.
The exterior was repainted in November 2020 and presents in a vivid
red finish complemented by black bumpers, black grille accents,
black bolt-on Gorilla Warflares, black tubular side steps, and a
substantial Krawlers Edge roll bar extending into the bed. A Bronco
Design fiberglass hood adds a subtle performance-oriented touch
while retaining the recognizable Bronco profile.
Its stance is completed by black aftermarket wheels wrapped in
33x12.50R15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. Up front are WARN
manual locking hubs, reinforcing the Bronco's traditional
four-wheel-drive hardware.
Inside, the cabin has been modernized with supportive Corbeau
bucket seats, a Grant GT three-spoke steering wheel, center
console, aftermarket audio system, and additional instrumentation.
The original-style large central speedometer remains in place,
while the red and black interior treatment ties directly into the
exterior. The odometer currently displays approximately 17,044
miles; actual vehicle mileage is not represented by the odometer
reading, while approximately 38,000 miles are stated on the ATK
engine.
The pickup bed is protected by a durable spray-in liner, and the
roll-bar structure gives the Bronco an appropriately rugged
open-bed appearance.
A substantial documentation package accompanies the Bronco,
including 1969 Ford Truck Shop Manuals, wiring diagrams, Edelbrock
carburetor literature, PerTronix ignition information, ATK
documentation, receipts, and service history.
With its 302 V8, rebuilt C4 automatic, 4.10 gearing, Vintage Air,
upgraded brakes, Corbeau seating, 33-inch BFGoodrich tires, and
extensive documented maintenance, this 1969 Bronco offers an
