This 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Tribute convertible is powered by a rear-mounted 164ci Turbo-Air flat-six 180hp paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is refinished in Artesian Turquoise over black vinyl upholstery. It has been refurbished, and equipment includes a black convertible soft top, dual side mirrors, 14″ Ansen aluminum wheels, front bucket seats, a heater, and a windshield defroster.
The car was born as a Corvair Monza Convertible finished in Red on red and was repainted to Artesian Turquoise under previous ownership. Since then, the Corsa motor (T0907RL), transmission, gauge package, emblems have all been installed. This is a true clone.
New equipment includes a replacement black convertible soft top, fuel pump, FAST electronic ignition, door and window gaskets, convertible top gaskets, exhaust gaskets, front shocks, dual master brake cylinder, arm rests, black molded carpet, window levers, fisher door sills, turbo rebuilt and chrome bumpers with guards.
The 14″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 205/60R tires that are in good shape. The Corvair utilized a fully independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by front and rear drum brakes.
The cabin was reupholstered under previous ownership and features front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl and black replacement carpeting. Interior appointments include a heater, a windshield defroster, and an AM radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, manifold pressure, and cylinder head temperature. Also installed are oil pressure gauge, clock and battery level, The five-digit odometer shows 22,600 miles, Total mileage is unknown.
The rear-mounted, air-cooled 164ci flat-six with turbo and was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. 0 to 60 in 6.9 seconds, quarter mile in 15.4 seconds.
