Here is a really stunning looking Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible
finished in Masons black with cream Connolly hide interior with
black accents. A very, very handsome colour combination throughout.
The twin fine lines to the waist-rails are hand-painted in cream to
match the interior. The Rolls-Royce Corniche is powered by a 6.75
litre Rolls-Royce designed and built V8 engine with the Bosch fuel
injection system which provides ultra smooth touring. Being a 1985,
she has the new updated specs from the previous year that continued
thru to 1989. This example is very original in every single detail.
To the extent she has never had any paint, the leather is all
original and as is the wood. It is very rare to find an
all-original example like this. Indeed a very clean example that
lived in the South Hamptons as a summer car for all its life. Hence
the very low 21,000 miles ~ and all Carfax supported. She appears
to be a 1-owner example showing same ownership from at least 1991
with only 8,000 miles at the time. She has been regularly
maintained by JE Robison Service who is very well known and
respected in all Rolls-Royce circles. And, you can always tell a
car is well maintained when the first thing you see is Avon tyres.
The best for these cars and NOT cheap at over $2,000 for a set of
four. But even aside that, when you drive the car, she is very
tight, smooth and responsive. Please see the driving video posted
at www.park-ward.com. That all said, like all Park-Ward Motors'
cars, the car is being sold turn-key and is subject to a unique
process by us only, known as "Predelivery Commissioning" whereby
every major and minor service is done, any preventative maintenance
needed, attended to, and all operational features serviced as
required; AC, seats, windows, roof etc. The process is a bit like
late model cars when they are sold with a Certified Warranty. With
Park-Ward, you get a true "turn-key" motor car. The body of the car
is straight and the paint deep in lustre and consistency. It
appears all or most of the paint is factory original and presents
beautifully with a very high shine. Rubbers, mouldings, badges and
external fittings are all in good condition. There are various
areas which have the ever-so-common lead-wiping stress marks which,
in our opinion, are part and parcel of owning a Corniche but feel
free to talk to us if you would prefer have these remediated. They
can all be achieved by localized repair. The exterior matching
Everflex convertible top is in good condition with hardly any
fading of the rear "glass". The interior on this car is
spectacularly nice and all original in finish and presentation. The
original leather shows beautifully and has never been redyed so it
shows its true Connolly hide characteristics. They are super supple
and soft. All the wood is original and presents very well. The dash
does have some minor hairline fractures in the clear finish but
these are very minor are certainly not objectionable, as you can
see in the photos. We really do not believe refinishing it is
warranted but this is an option avaiable to buyers as, of course,
we do this in-house. Carpets, seats, dash, console, fixtures and
fittings are truly excellent and I best encourage you to look at
all the photos to fully appreciate how nicely the interior
presents. The car is of very high standard and is an easy 10 out of
10 driver rating. She is indeed an exquisitely beautiful example of
the Corniche series in its stunning Horse Chestnut coach work and
with only few, in this very fine condition, remaining these days.
