For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Malibu in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1969 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle Convertible

"The '69 Chevelle Malibu, sixty nine dollar less than last year's sports coupe, was equipped the same way. A 200 horsepower engine. Powerglide transmission. Head restraints. New advanced design power disc brakes. Wheel covers and white wall tires. Sixty nine dollars less than last year and it's more car. Show up at your Chevrolet dealer's value showdown. One thing's for sure; Chevelle's competition wouldn't dare." From a 1969 television commercial.

For consignment, a 1969 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle convertible with the true mileage unknown partially due to an inoperable odometer. Here is a spectacular custom car show for the discerning collector. The paint, interior, engine and undercarriage represent a no expense spared build that is outstanding in every way.

Exterior
Smoothed side markers, flush door handles, and wheels we'll get to in a minute are all embellished by the symbiotic relationship of fantastic Wineberry Metallic paint and stunning ghost flames over the hood, fenders and doors. This two stage coverage is brighter and deeper than anything out of the factory in '69 and the 18-inch Billet Specialties wheels add an astounding level of splendor that competes for your eyes and attention with their luster and varied width. The manually operated black canvas top is in near perfect condition and the polished reveal frames it like a fine work of art. This is consistent with the metalwork around the car, including the bumpers, which are all in excellent shape. Imperfections are few and include a small patched tear in the soft top, a linear inclusion on the rear fender, a few scratches, a spider crack, and a touched up chip in the lower front of the passenger's door.

Interior
If you're not already dialing our number, feast your eyes on this interior! Saddle vinyl and wine make up the custom designed door panels with "Malibu Memories" embroidered on each one. Deep grain saddle vinyl is used on the buckets seats with bands of wine color smooth strips trailing down in tandem and along with the rear bench, which also feature cabochon ornamentation, are in immaculate condition. The perfect palette continues with the Billet Specialties steering wheel and its saddle rim, leading to a glossy wine dashboard, saddle dash pad, and clean, white faced AutoMeter gauges ahead. Saddle covers the center console, of course, which houses a B&M shifter over the saddle loop carpet is flawless presentation. But wait, there's more because the trunk is fully finished with the same materials and color combination, worthy of being part of the show when the time comes.

Drivetrain
And the show rolls on, thanks to this fully polished and chrome 454ci V8 which our consignor states has LS6 specs and was built by John Lingenfelter. His name is on the mirror-like valve covers and its bling city in the bay with wineberry metallic making its way to the inner fenders and firewall. The engine has aluminum heads and a four barrel carburetor, backed by a TH400 3-speed ATI Street transmission with a 10" converter. Power is routed to a 12 bolt rear axle with consignor stated 3.73 gears and Positraction. Headers, power brakes and power steering are on board.

Undercarriage
Bring the floor mirrors as the underside is absolutely show quality with chrome, stainless and spotless glossy surfaces. The Pypes exhaust system includes an X-pipe and pair of mufflers, all in polished stainless steel. Power Wilwood disc brakes all around include six piston calipers in front and suspension consists of polished coil overs with a 4 link in back.

Drive-Ability
Light this baby up and a thunderous exhaust and engine sound is emitted for all to hear, and all will hear it. The car runs straight and true and exhibits obvious power underfoot. We note the horn, wipers, odometer display, speedometer, right turn signal and temp gauge are not working but all other functions work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Check your bylaws if you live in an HOA; they've never seen anything this shiny or heard anything this booming. If you don't live in one, forget what we just said and get ready for incredibly good times at shows, including those that may require stanchions to keep people at eye's length. This is a spectacular show car with a potent powerplant under the hood.
