We brought this beautiful E3 to the Netherlands all the way from Switzerland. A Rich History After a period in which BMW withdrew from the top segment, the marque returned in full glory with the introduction of the BMW E3 3.0 litre sedan. This luxurious saloon, powered by a mighty six-cylinder engine producing 180 bhp, was launched with high expectations as a rival to Mercedes-Benz. The car was originally fitted with a self-levelling system, later simplified due to technical unreliability. Even so, the 3.0 litre remained a success story and was swiftly followed by the popular BMW 2500 with its 2.5 litre engine.
