Jaguar XJR-S 6.0 V12, 1992. One owner, 44,625 km, service books
from new.
Few car marques combine performance and elegance as effortlessly as
Jaguar. Since its founding in 1922, the British marque has built a
reputation grounded in beauty, engineering and motorsport success.
From the revolutionary XK120 to the iconic E-Type and the luxurious
XJ series: Jaguar built cars that were not only fast, but also
possessed an unmistakable presence.
At the end of the 1980s, Jaguar decided to further build on that
reputation with a particularly ambitious project. In collaboration
with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, TWR for short, JaguarSport was founded.
After all, TWR had led Jaguar to several victories in the World
Sports Car Championship and two legendary wins at the 24 Hours of
Le Mans. The knowledge gained on the track now had to find its way
into an exclusive Grand Tourer for the public road.
The result was the Jaguar XJR-S. Not a cosmetically dressed-up XJS,
but a thoroughly developed version with modified bodywork, a
refined chassis, improved aerodynamics and considerably more
powerful engines. In 1992, the model reached its absolute peak with
the introduction of the impressive 6.0 litre V12. This engine,
specially developed by JaguarSport, delivered more power, more
suppleness and a refinement that few twelve-cylinders have ever
matched.
