1975 Ford F-100 Ranger XLT - 302 V8 - C6 Automatic - Patina
Build
Check out this sharp 1975 Ford F-100 Ranger XLT, finished in a
great-looking blue patina that has been lightly sanded and clear
coated to preserve its aged character. This is an original southern
truck with a very clean underside and solid structure. The
combination of the natural patina, lowered stance, polished wheels,
and refreshed interior gives this F-100 a great blend of old-school
character and modern drivability.
Under the hood is a 302ci V8 backed by a C6 3-speed automatic
transmission and a 3.25 rear gear with Track-Lok. The 302 is topped
with a Holley 650 CFM carburetor, and the truck is equipped with
power steering and power front disc brakes. It runs, drives, and
shifts great, stays cool with an upgraded aluminum radiator, and is
comfortable cruising at highway speeds.
A substantial amount of work and new parts have gone into this
truck. Recent components include valve covers, air cleaner,
alternator, radiator, battery, fuel pump and gas tank, all four
shocks, front springs, rear spring bushings, windshield and gasket,
wipers, headlights, master cylinder, cab/core support bushings,
front radius-arm bushings, HEI distributor, soft brake lines, front
grille, mirrors, hood and tailgate latches, and more. The fluids
have also been changed.
The truck has been lowered approximately 1.5 inches in front and
2.5 inches in the rear and rides on polished 20x8 front and 20x10
rear wheels with new tires, giving it an excellent stance while
retaining the classic F-100 appearance.
Inside, the cab has been completely refreshed with a black vinyl
bench seat, new carpet, door panels, dash pad, headliner, window
handles, door sill plates and floor pans. Kilmat sound deadening
was installed throughout the cab, including the roof, doors, floor
and rear cab area. A full set of updated digital gauges with new
sensors and sending units provides a modern touch, while a
Bluetooth stereo and speakers add everyday convenience. Heat,
defrost and the blower motor are working as they should.
All lights, turn signals, gauges and wipers are reported to work
properly. The truck is a factory non-A/C example.
This F-100 isn't trying to be a perfect restored show truck-and
that's part of its appeal. The clear-coated blue patina proudly
shows its history, while the refreshed mechanicals, upgraded
suspension, brakes, interior and modern wheels make it a truck you
can actually get out and enjoy. A cool, solid and well-sorted
Ranger XLT with tons of character and a long list of recent
improvements.
