For Sale: 1934 Ford Custom in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: This is an absolute first class build in every respect! It's a real, all steel 1934 Ford, not a reproduction! Just over 1,100 miles since completion. The restoration quality is exceptional, the colors are stunning, and it looks every bit as good as it drives. From the craftsmanship to the performance, this '34 Ford is the complete package.

EXTERIOR: This is a real 1934 Ford- not a reproduction and it retains its all steel body and fenders. The body is pristine, with every inch straight and smooth. The black paint is like a mirror, polished to such a deep, reflective finish it looks like you could reach your arm right into it! It maintains that nostalgic '34 Ford character with ribbed rubber running boards, big headlights with Ford script lenses, a chrome grille topped with the Greyhound ornament, original style door handles on the suicide doors, stainless bumper brackets and polished bumpers. It also features a chrome windshield frame and black canvas convertible top. Turn signals are neatly incorporated into the headlights and factory style taillights. Beautiful 15 inch red powder coated multi spoke wheels with GoodYear that are fatter in back, giving this classic Ford the perfect hot rod stance.

INTERIOR: Absolutely first class! This recently completed custom interior was created by Steve Holcomb at Pro Auto Custom Interiors, known for world class work. It's finished in glove soft genuine Italian leather with nicely cushioned seats, black inserts and silver buttons. The matching door panels are beautifully done, and even the area behind the seat is completely upholstered. Premium square loop carpet and matching mats finish the floor, while all the black paint is as deep and glossy as the exterior. A full set of classic style gauges includes a tachometer and clock. The neatly integrated digital climate control lets you set the temperature and forget about it. An $8,000 stereo system was just installed and sounds incredible, with speakers cleverly incorporated into the leather kick panels. Best of all, there's a 5-speed manual shifter sticking out of the floor! A tilt column and beautiful steering wheel complete the driver's area. There's also a surprising room inside- I'm six feet tall and fit comfortably with no problem at all.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Mechanical jewelry! Pop the hood and it looks like a jewelry case packed with polished hardware. And yes, it's Ford tough with Ford stuff- no Chevy motor here! The 408 stroker has been deburred and smoothed, with polished heads and a polished intake topped by a Tri-Power carburetor setup. It's dressed with tall chrome Ford Racing valve covers, a chrome air cleaner and a fully polished Front Runner system including the brackets, serpentine pulleys, A/C compressor and alternator. An oversized radiator, electric fan and overflow bottle keep it running cool. It also features an electric choke, electronic ignition and coated headers. It looks spectacular, but it's not just for show- this 408 runs strong and does its job!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is finished to the same high standards as the interior by Steve Holcomb. It's completely boxed and upholstered in rich red Italian leather with black cloth inserts and silver buttons. Premium square loop carpet covers the floor, and even the underside of the trunk lid is beautifully upholstered. The battery is neatly hidden behind one of the finished panels.

UNDERSIDE: This undercarriage is every bit as impressive as the rest of the car. It rides on a Progressive chassis featuring a boxed frame with tubular center supports for exceptional strength and rigidity. Up front is a chrome independent suspension with tubular control arms, adjustable coilover gas shocks, and rack-and-pinion steering. The rear is equipped with a polished four-link system, tubular control arms, and adjustable coilover shocks. A custom-fabricated, polished stainless-steel exhaust system runs underneath with dual mufflers on each side. All new fuel system. The brake system has been completely upgraded with front disc brakes featuring polished calipers, rear drums, all new lines, and a functioning emergency brake assembly. Looking up at the drivetrain, you'll find a chrome oil pan, a new Ford Motorsports high-torque starter, and a custom driveshaft leading back to a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.70 posi gears. The chassis and frame are finished in high-gloss black, while the clean metal underside is protected with durable black chip guard coating. As a thoughtful touch, remote battery terminals are conveniently mounted underneath for easy access.

CONCLUSION: We bought this from a gentleman who loves building high end custom cars. He bought this '34 already in amazing shape, then spent tens of thousands making it even better. He's only selling because his next project is a $400,000 custom truck. You're getting a truly standout car-you won't pull up next to another one like it!
