According to a history report on file from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, the car was dispatched from Aston Martin's Newport Pagnell works on May 15, 1964, and delivered directly to the Watling Tool & Gauge Company in Markyate, Bedfordshire.Originally finished in Goodwood Green over Fawn upholstery with a matching Fawn convertible top, the DB5 was factory-equipped with chrome wire wheels, a Motorola radio with a power antenna, Ace Silver Peak number plates, Girling brakes, and a Powr-Lok limited-slip differential.Shortly after acquiring the car in 2010, the consignor entrusted it to the highly regarded craftsmen at Steel Wings of Warminster, Pennsylvania, for a comprehensive body-off restoration. Completed in December 2016, the project involved fully disassembling the car down to its Superleggera chassis before meticulously rebuilding it to exacting standards.The restoration is extensively documented through photographs and invoices. Significant portions of the bodywork were newly fabricated during the process, with more than $100,000 invested in the restoration and refinement of the coachwork alone.The DB5 had been converted to left-hand drive prior to the restoration and was subsequently restored in that configuration.
