1950 Chevrolet Fleetline

With the arrival of a new decade in 1950 a lot of changes were starting to occur in the vehicle design world. Things were transitioning from prominent protruding fenders to ones that would eventually be fully incorporated into the main body. They were still present in 1950 but the Deluxe series had undergone a major redesign that drastically differed from the Deluxes back in the 40's. This was the first postwar restyling and was Chevrolet's sales leader being the highest level vehicle they offered. They sported smooth curves, with a lot of chrome and a roofline that smoothly transitions all the way into the rear decklid. This beautiful 1950 Chevrolet has undergone a very high end frame off restoration and is the Fleetline 4 door body style. The build was meticulously documented and it comes with a binder containing every invoice, part order, etc. If you are in the market for one of the nicest 50's on the road do not pass this one up. The process started in 2011 and wouldn't be completed until 2018. Since then it has been driven only 110 miles so still looks like it just rolled out of the restoration shop. A move is forcing the sale so here is your chance to get a fresh, barely shown, fully restored car without the headache and even more so the the cost that goes into building one yourself. The body is totally rust free and very straight. Paint like this will easily expose imperfections and you can tell it was done right. It almost transforms depending on the lighting and takes on an almost Black color in the dark. Pull it out in the sun though and that slick Black Cherry Pearl really comes to life revealing its true colors. It is difficult to capture in pictures but is a stunning color. It wears all of its original style chrome and stainless which shines like a mirror. Everything was either rechromed or replaced with new and not a single piece was left untouched. The tinted glass is in good condition throughout and it has the vent windows and the two piece windshield. Being a 4 door the rear actually incorporates the front portion of the rear fender hump which is a very cool and unique design feature found only on this body style. The car has a great stance and rides on a set of Cragar SS wheels with clean sidewall Redline tires.

The motor is a fresh crate ZZ4 350ci motor that has a very long life ahead of it and was purchased directly from Chevrolet Performance. It runs very well and is nicely dressed up with Chevrolet valve covers, Chevrolet air cleaner and more. These are extremely well done motors and come turn key with things like cast aluminum heads and a 1053 forged crank shaft. Being direct from Chevrolet, parts are readily available so they are very easy to work on as needed. Despite the Texas heat the car runs cool with an aftermarket aluminum radiator combined with electric fan. Everything is very clean under the hood with the same care applied to the paint on the firewall as it was on the body. The engine is mated to a TCI 700R4 automatic transmission that sends power back to to the Currie rear end. The car sits on a custom built chassis that features Jim Meyer Racing components and a Jim Meyer independent front suspension. It has all the luxuries to make it a great driver including power steering, power brakes and OldAir AC. The car sounds great with custom dual exhaust that exits right behind the rear wheels through chrome tips.

The interior is all custom and done in a two tone Burgundy with White tuck and roll pleated inserts. The door panels are all custom designed as well. The bench seats are in excellent condition and have aftermarket Burgundy lap belts. The carpeting looks like new and through the floor you will find the Lokar shifter with Burgundy boot. The dash is very clean, nicely painted, and topped off with its beautiful stock style chrome trim. To avoid cutting up the original dash and underdash section was made to house the adjustable vents and aftermarket AC/Heat controls. This same thought process was used with the stereo as you will see the original push button radio in place but in the glove box in an aux cord so you can use a hidden stereo. In place of the stock gauge pod is an aftermarket Classic Instruments all in 1 gauge. In front of the driver sits a tilt column topped off with a Grant Banjo steering wheel which is a classy touch. The trunk has plenty of storage space and is all nicely upholstered as well. Behind the right interior panel is hidden the relocated battery.

This car runs extremely well and is very well done. It is one of the more highly documented builds we have seen and comes with a binder full of paperwork outlining every single component.
