"For 2013, the Challenger delivers exactly what Dodge enthusiasts
want: Optional R/T Redline trim with modern muscle car cues, a
potent 375 horsepopwer Hemi V 8 engine, six speed stick or driver
adaptable paddle shift automatic transmissions and a performance
tuned chassis for world class dynamics. 'The new Challenger R/T
Redline fuses our iconic heritage with a one of a kind customized
appearance,' said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, Dodge Brand.
'Featuring unique body side stripes and black chrome wheels with
red accents, the new R/T Redline combines unmatched personalization
with the unmistakable performance of the legendary Hemi.'"

For consignment, a 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T Redline hardtop with a
title verified 10,401 actual miles. Just five years after the
reintroduction of the Challenger, Dodge created this special
edition and our research has found that only an estimated 567 R/T
Redlines were built for 2013. That number doubled in 2014.
Exterior
One look at the profile and it's apparent this is not your run of
the mill Challenger. Naturally, Dodge's unwavering boldness means
that putting custom graphics and a long, red stripe on the side is
not out of the question, nor the name of the edition. This special
livery is bolstered by red rim trim added to the wheels which have
a color closely matching the Granite Crystal Metallic paint that
adorns the body. A race style gas cap stands out as the only bit of
chrome on the side unless you count the lug nuts, and the rest of
the car maintains the monochromatic gray coverage. The straight
rear light bar in the back looks cool in daylight and especially at
night, while the menacing stare of the front fascia never gets old,
regardless of what's under the hood! Imperfections are few and
include scuffs and chips on the nose piece, a stain on the roof,
some general inclusions and chips.
Interior
Robust plastic door panels include a cover which houses the armrest
with easy access to window switches and the door handle, as well as
some storage below. The Dark Slate Gray palette continues with the
thick bucket seats, in black and gray cloth and tuck and roll
pleated inserts and the 2+2's in back appear almost as supportive
with raised seat sides and a fold down armrest, all looking fresh.
The leather wrapped steering wheel leads a clean and practical
dashboard, four main gauges with white faces and red needles
confront the driver with all the essential information while air
conditioning and the AM/FM/CD radio take their place in the center.
We can call the shifter a modernized, stylized pistol grip unit in
the center console, melding the idea of gunslinger and road warrior
meeting in a dark room. Dodge mats protect the low pile black
carpet below and the padded headliner above looks to be in great
shape. The trunk is spotless and lined with gray cloth covered
panels for a finished and clean presentation.
Drivetrain
Under the hood and tucked in the clean engine bay is Dodge's
venerable 5.7 liter Hemi V8 putting out 375 horsepower, fuel
injected, and tied to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission,
rebuilt in 2018, and sending the herd to the back where it finds
3.90 gears in the rear differential. The heavily shrouded engine
bay presents cleanly.
Undercarriage
The underside is wonderfully clean and dry. Dual exhaust runs
through original equipment mufflers and resonators on its way to
square exhaust tips in back. Suspension consists of Macpherson
struts in front and independent coil springs in back. Naturally,
power disc brakes are on all four red colored inner wheels when
it's time to bring those horses back to the stable. We note one
splash guard has a cracked corner dislodged from the rest.
Drive-Ability
Like most, this one's been pampered and is comfortable on the
inside which hugs you like a thick blanket and puts a fat steering
wheel in your hand to pilot it. And pilot it we did, right to the
test loop where it performs pretty much as expected. Blistering
speed and power, great straight tracking, and excellent handling.
And as a modern car with low mileage, our list of functional test
items all get check marks, A+. While Classic Auto Mall represents
that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
We've seen you Mopar guys bring clean examples like this to a car
show and walk away with first place, and we're okay with that. This
special edition is in for a cakewalk when it comes to the
competition and is ready for its newest pilot.
