DESCRIPTION:
Classic 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup powered by a rebuilt 235 cu. in. I-6 and backed by a 1973 OEM light duty 4-speed transmission and 3.55:1 open rear differential. The 3100 has been treated to a number of modern upgrades to make it more reliable, safe, and fun to drive (see list below). Current owner has had the Pickup for about 5 years and drove it to local Car Shows and Cruise events. Actual mileage since the rebuild is estimated at 5,000 in about 8 years. Selling for personal reasons.

The body is all steel except for the fender where the side-mounted spare tire is sitting. The paint is in fair condition and does show that there is some bodywork on the back side of the cab. See photos. Most of the chrome is in good to fair condition too. All exterior lights, turn signals, brake lights, and wipers function. Recently, a new windshield was installed and the floor of the bed was refinished.
The 235 I-6 engine is not original to the 3100 and has been treated to Clifford Research headers, dual exhaust, 4-barrel intake manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, and HEI electronic ignition. It starts easily (floor mounted starter button) and runs great. New gas tank and sending unit were also added.
The suspension appears stock with an upgraded brake system which includes new lines, proportioning valve, discs in the front and drums on the rear. The rest of the suspension looks stock. Frame is solid except for some surface rust. Steel 15” wheels have been powder coated and include trim rings. Tires are 235/75R/15 radials.
The interior is stock with a velour covered bench seat, stock door panels, dashboard, and rubber mats. The factory gauges were replaced so the speedometer/odometer, gas, and voltmeter function. After market water temperature and oil pressure gauges were added for a more accurate reading. The radio has been converted to AM/FM and retains its original appearance. The heater and heater core were replaced and function as well as the cowl vent.
If you are looking for a reliable “Old” truck which is very dependable and fun to drive to car show events or just around town, this is the one for you. No disappointments.
