The convertible top is inoperable
The third generation of the Ford Thunderbird was released to the public in 1961 and would only remain that style for short three years. The re-design was a futuristic bullet-style and would also include a all new 390 Cubic Inch V8 that was rated at a very healthy 300 HP. The car was offered in a hardtop, landau sport roof and the convertible. This particular very nice car has been consigned with us and the seller wishes to have the car sold at a discount vs. going through the trouble of having the top fixed. After doing some quick searching, there is a a lot of information regarding faulty relays. We tried a switch and that didnt work. The convertible top itself is in very good condition, the interior is very nice and the the engine bay is extremely tidy in unmolested condition. The car has been restored some time ago but the paint is still a very good driver quality example with some minor blemishes as to be expected. The car starts right up, idles nicely, goes in to gear as it should and goes down the road as you would expect.
