INTRODUCTION: This is the one collectors want: an R-code 428 Cobra Jet Mach-1 with a Shaker hood and 4-speed! It was taken down to a bare shell, put on a rotisserie, and thoroughly restored with photos documenting the process. It's also well documented with its original invoice, Marti Report, and miscellaneous receipts. One of only 264 produced in this color combination!

EXTERIOR: The 1970 Mach 1 SportsRoof is unquestionably one of Ford's greatest designs- aggressive, muscular, and instantly recognizable. This one was taken all the way down to a bare shell, mounted on a rotisserie, and beautifully restored in its original Medium Gold Metallic. The metallic is laid out evenly beneath the clear coat, and the finish has been polished smooth like glass. The blacked-out hood treatment gives it the unmistakable Mach 1 attitude, complete with a functional Shaker Ram Air scoop rising through the hood, 428 callouts, and racing style hood locks. It also features sport mirrors and the distinctive honeycomb rear tail panel with new taillights. The windshield has been replaced, along with the weatherstripping, and the chrome and exterior trim appear to have been replaced as well. Finishing off the look is a brand new set of Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires.

INTERIOR: It features the desirable sport Interior, starting with high back bucket seats that have been reupholstered and new molded door panels. The woodgrain trim stretches across the dash and looks fresh, while the dash pad itself is mint. Even the Rim Blow steering wheel horn works. A retro stereo fits neatly in place of the original radio, while the heater controls, knobs, center console, and quartz movement clock all look great. Interior lights are working, and fresh carpeting includes sewn in floor mats. Best of all, rising from the console is a Hurst 4-speed shifter topped with the classic T-handle- exactly what you want to be gripping in a 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1. Overhead, the headliner and visors have also been completely refreshed. Overall, it's a fresh and tidy presentation.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Stuffed between the shock towers is the legendary 428 Cobra Jet, and the entire engine compartment has been restored and detailed to look much like it did when new. The engine bay features clean metal finished in smooth black, and the original buck tag is still in place. The 428 runs strong and retains a very authentic appearance with stock exhaust manifolds, finned aluminum valve covers, and even date coded reproduction spark plug wires. The cooling system is properly detailed with the correct style radiator and cap, Autolite hoses, and reproduction clamps. The washer bottle and related components are in place, the battery is properly secured, and it's also equipped with power brakes. Overall, this is a very clean, highly detailed engine compartment.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The attention to detail continues inside the trunk. Under the trunk lid, the jambs, and throughout the compartment is pristine metal finished in the same glossy Medium Gold Metallic as the exterior. The weatherstripping has been replaced, and a fresh trunk mat finishes off the clean, restored appearance.

UNDERSIDE: The bare body shell was placed on a rotisserie during the restoration, allowing the underside to be restored to exceptional factory correct condition. The floors and frame rails are pristine, finished in red oxide primer with the proper overspray patterns just as they would have appeared leaving the factory. The Competition Suspension and steering system have been completely rebuilt. Just got a front end alignment It retains a correct-style dual exhaust system featuring a crossover pipe, factory-style mufflers, and the proper tips exiting through the rear valance. The fuel system has been replaced, along with the brake system, which includes front disc brakes, rear drums, all new lines, and a functioning emergency brake assembly. Looking up at the drivetrain, the engine is detailed in correct Ford Blue and paired with the original Toploader four-speed transmission with its tag RUG AZ new clutch the flywheel was cut repair the reverse light switch. The driveshaft leads back to the desirable Ford 9-inch rear end, completing a highly authentic and beautifully restored underside.
