For Sale: 1934 Ford Model 40 in Bel Air, Maryland

Vehicle Description

DESCRIPTION:

Up for sale by a private estate is this 1934 Ford Phaeton Model 40 4-door painted in Washington Blue (lacquer) with a beige convertible top and matching Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. It is powered by the original 221 cu. in. V8 ‘flathead’ engine rated at 85 horsepower and backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. The current owner purchased the Ford approximately 4 years ago in the condition you see presented. According to the prior owner a restoration was done about 25 years ago. There is some patina, but the all steel ’34 is still very presentable and runs well. It is still a 6-volt charging system.

The exterior does show some age with some fading, ‘crows feet’ and scratches. There appears to be no evidence of rust bubbling on the body and venders. The chrome looks to be in good condition, and the windshield has no chips or cracks. Please view all photos carefully.

The interior was done in leather and has several tears, but nothing serious. The upholstery under the material is in good condition and not ‘flaking’ out at the bottom. Floorboards are solid with no holes or rust. The factory gauges function, even the original AM radio works.

The exact mileage on the driveline, including the rebuilt 221 cu in V8 is unknown, but believed to be less than 5,000 miles. There appears to be no evidence of smoke from the exhaust when starting the car or driving. It seems to still have plenty of ‘get-up-and-go’ for 80 horsepower. Starter button is still located on the floor.

The chassis and frame are rebuilt and nicely painted gloss black. It still shows well. There are no holes or rust on the frame. The Ford steers straight and still has manual brakes.

If you are looking for a fun vintage classic to drive to shows and events, this 1934 Ford Phaeton definitely “fits the bill”.

While we do our best to provide quality cars with an honest and reliable description and realize the importance of transparency when selling vehicles. We have not built, modified, changed, or personally owned this vehicle. Even though this vehicle is being sold by Kurzmann’s Auto Brokerage we do not know the vehicles complete history since new. We want to be clear and try to answer any questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we do welcome 3rd party independent inspections. Please inquire prior to purchase to make sure the advertised vehicle has not already been sold. If a customer chooses to purchase sight unseen (many of our customers choose this option) the customer accepts the vehicle AS IS and WHERE IS and understands we cannot address concerns after purchase. For this reason, it's important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to verify the existence of options, accessories, and the vehicle condition before time of sale.

I have been an active internet seller of vehicles on eBay and other Motor Vehicle websites for more than 20 years and maintained a 100% rating during most of that period.  Approximately 15 years ago I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles on the internet without them leaving the garage.  These are private individual owners who do not want to deal with the public and all the endless phone calls, “Tire kickers”, and other nonsense that goes on when trying to sell a car. They just want someone to sell it!!
