1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 | Real Deal Z28 | 496 BluePrint V8 |
5-Speed Manual | Original 12-Bolt 3.73 Posi |
LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to present this genuine 1969
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, retaining its highly desirable X77/D80
configuration and now transformed into an absolutely exhilarating
street machine. Forget the ordinary small-block cruiser - this
Camaro packs a Blueprint 496ci V8 under the hood, backed by a
5-speed manual transmission that puts you directly in control of
all that big-block torque.
The drivetrain combination gets even better underneath. The car
retains its original ""BU""-coded 12-bolt rear axle, fitted with
3.73:1 Positraction gearing, giving this Camaro the perfect
combination of brutal acceleration and usable cruising. Hooker
headers feed a Pypes stainless-steel exhaust, delivering the
soundtrack you'd expect from a 496-powered '69 Camaro.
This Z/28 isn't just about horsepower. The chassis has been
thoughtfully upgraded to make sure the car can put that power to
the ground. Hotchkis subframe connectors provide additional
rigidity, while tubular control arms, replacement upper and lower
ball joints, front wheel bearings, tie rods, lower control arm
bushings, and Energy Suspension body mounts have been installed
throughout. It's a serious foundation for a serious muscle car.
The stance is finished with 18-inch Mags wheels, featuring gray
centers and wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires measuring 225/40 up front
and a massive 275/40 in the rear. The result is an aggressive
modernized appearance without losing the unmistakable character of
a first-generation Camaro.
Inside, the cockpit you immediately see vintage muscle with modern
functionality. A three-spoke steering wheel sits atop a tilting
column and frames an analog clock and Dakota Digital
instrumentation, while auxiliary gauges are positioned ahead of the
shifter. A modern retrosounds bluetooth radio has been equipped as
well. The digital odometer shows approximately 3,000 miles,
representing the mileage since the 496ci engine and 5-speed
transmission were installed in 2018.
This is the kind of Camaro that checks all the right boxes for an
enthusiast: real X77/D80 Z/28 pedigree, massive 496ci power, a
5-speed manual, original 12-bolt Positraction is an aggressive
combination.
It's not pretending to be a Z/28it is one! And now it's packing
enough big-block attitude to make sure nobody forgets it. For more
