For Sale at Auction: 1960 Chevrolet Corvette in Las Vegas, Nevada

This second-off-the-line 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Fuelie convertible, VIN 002, retains its original frame with the chassis-number stamping present. Powered by a CZ-suffix 283ci fuel-injected V-8 engine and a four-speed manual transmission. During a comprehensive restoration the engine was fitted with limited-production experimental aluminum cylinder heads, casting number 8772895, date-coded June 24, 1959, properly equipped with valve-guide inserts and valve seats. These lightweight heads were never regular production and were part of Zora Arkus-Duntov's performance program. The engine also carries Rochester fuel-injection unit serial number 1006, part number 7017320, the correct unit for high-performance fuel-injected engines. Dana Kuhl bought the car in the 1960s and had it for nearly 50 years. A comprehensive, fully documented restoration has brought the car to its present condition. The sale includes restoration photographs, a binder and a 1973 Dana Kuhl registration copy. It has traveled only about five miles since that work was completed and is presented in Ermine White with a white soft-top and red interior. Options include a heater, defroster, clock, and radio. Color-matched steel wheels wear small-diameter chrome crossed-flag hubcaps.
