1986 Chevrolet C10 Silverado 4x2 Long Bed Pickup

For consignment, a 1986 C10 Silverado 4x2 long bed pickup showing 40,074 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption and our consignor states it's closer to 140,000. A new windshield, bedliner, radio, and hood insulator make this a worthy candidate if you're looking for a vintage short bed that's been well maintained.

Exterior
Midnight Black sandwiching Charcoal Metallic in two stage paint covers the truck with a triple orange stripe that runs the waistline. What grabs our attention are the gray painted 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels and the aluminum side steps that jut out from the rocker. A band of aluminum trim surrounds the truck, underscoring the call out and brushed aluminum dress plate on the tailgate, over the rear bumper and diamond steel plate that now wears matte black paint. Stacked lights front this square body while the spray-on liner in the bed is clean. Imperfections include inclusions on the roof and hood, scratches, chips, surface rust spots, scuffs, foggy tail light lenses, rust on the rockers, blistering in other areas, surface rust on the tailgate, weathered gravel protection film, rock spray, and areas of flat black paint.

Interior
Gray door panels show very well combining cloth inserts with plastic shell and aluminum trim plates and carpeted lowers, map pockets below each window crank. Indian print cloth now covers the bench seats with gray vinyl sides and maintains its ultra 80's original motif. Faux stitching in the vinyl spokes of the steering wheel is also period appropriate, fronting an uncomplicated instrument cluster and its brushed aluminum faceplate, all in very good shape even as the dash pad shows some warpage. An AM/FM radio shares a panel with the A/C controls and black carpet covers the floor below a black headliner, all in nice condition.

Drivetrain
Under the hood, a 5.0 liter V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission routing power to the 10 bolt rear axle with 2.73 gears. Power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning are on board. The new insulator and overflow tank complete this clean presentation under the hood.

Undercarriage
Undercoating mixed with typical patina and surface rust color this otherwise clean underside. The exhaust is a single system through a stock style muffler and power brakes are divided as front disc and rear drum. Suspension consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back.

Drive-Ability
A pump of the gas and a turn of the key and the trusty five liter fires right up and we roll our LT rated tires over the smooth surface of our short test loop. No complaints here as the high truck affords good views, runs well and tracks straight. It's time to get this under the lights in the truck room! The unique color combo really got our attention and it adds just the right touch of 80's utility to a vehicle that has plenty of working days ahead of it if that's the direction you go with it. The further we get from 1986, the fewer of these trucks you see on the road, and as they begin to show up at car shows as a vintage vehicle, it's a sudden surprise for some of us 80's kids, but we're happy to support the collectability of survivors like this one.
