2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG Roadster

The SLK retained that feature through succeeding generations, during which the car grew larger and more luxurious, with styling that seemed to evolve in lockstep with the larger SL. For consignment, a 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG roadster with a title verified 67,466 actual miles. Car and Driver continues, "The SLK name is dead; the car is rechristened SLC, something Mercedes hopes will align it more closely with the C-class-and perhaps bring its roadster sales out of the doldrums."

Exterior
Production numbers by colors are hard to come by, but we're guessing the Mystic Blue Pearl was not among the most common even though it's a fantastic color for the hard topped roadster. Like the SLK's, the front presents low and wide with a large three point star in bullet style grille with projection headlights and markers occupying the front corners. In profile, the hood seems to bow to the wind, a fender vent creates a sport focused quality, and the impossibly short rear section sets a spoiler atop the decklid to redirect the air that gets past the steeply raked windshield. The rear view is a lesson in angular symmetry where even the exhaust tips become part of the design. 18" multi spoked wheels allow the red calipers to shine through and hood vents allow the air to flow through. Imperfections are few and include minor chips, inclusions, chin and front fascia scrapes and broken chin spoiler, curb rash, scuffs, and steel belts showing on worn rear tires, (you'll likely need an alignment, too!).

Interior
Robust black door panels are accentuated with Saddle inserts with typical quality Mercedes switchgear and clean construction. Saddle leather seats are an elaborate mix of side bolstering, tuck and roll, and a headrest that offers an Air Scarf, warm air expelled from integrated vents. We note some minor wear on the driver's ingress point but otherwise both present nicely. Looking forward you'll find a well designed, driver focused cockpit with a plethora of switchgear, screens and twin gauges backed by a checkered flag motif. The center stack controls the AM/FM/CD radio plus navigation, Bluetooth and integrated pad with the A/C panel just below. The air vents look like something out of an F-18 while carbon fiber, piano black and nickel dress the center console where you'll find the short shifter. Thick black carpet covers the floor and the trunk is fully finished and includes a cover.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a spotless and shrouded 3.0 liter DOHC twin turbo V6 pumping out an astounding 362 horsepower. It's mated to a 9G-tronic 9-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the 2.82 gears in back.

Undercarriage
We find clean and dry conditions underneath where the dual exhaust travels down a central tunnel flanked by aerodynamic belly pans and finds its original equipment mufflers before exiting as part of the rear valance. Power disc brakes are on all four corners and the fully independent suspension includes Macpherson struts in front and coil springs in back.

Drive-Ability
Given we're on worn tires, we'll keep things at a manageable speed, but with more than 350 horses on hand, this fine running Mercedes would be an unmitigated blast to drive. With grippy new tires, turns are going to be sought after and this nimble pocket rocket can be enjoyed with the hardtop stowed! All functions in this example work as they should.
