Vehicle Description

1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee For Sale Factory 383 Automatic Super Bee * Factory Tic-Toc-Tach * 440 Stroked to 512 C.I. * 4- Speed Conversion * Hurst Pistol Grip * 517.8 HP / 610.3 LB-FT Offered for sale is this genuine 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee, originally factory- equipped with a 383 V8 and automatic transmission along with the desirable factory Tic- Toc-Tach. During its transformation into the serious street machine it is today, the car was upgraded to a 440 cubic-inch big block stroked to 512 C.I. and converted to a 4-speed manual transmission with the iconic Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. Owned by the current owner since 2020 and stored in a heated garage throughout that time, this Super Bee has received a tremendous amount of professional restoration and mechanical work. The goal wasnt to create a trailer queen, but rather a powerful and dependable Mopar that could actually be driven and enjoyed. Professionally Built 440-Based 512 C.I. Roller V8 The centerpiece of this Super Bee is its professionally built 440-based 512 cubic-inch stroker V8, assembled over approximately two years by a highly regarded Massachusetts engine builder. This wasnt simply a collection of bolt-on performance parts. Extensive machining, measuring, clearancing, and assembly went into creating a complete performance package designed to deliver serious power while maintaining street reliability. The finished engine was properly broken in and dyno tested, producing an impressive 517.8 Horsepower / 610.3 LB-FT of Torque 4-Speed Pistol Grip Conversion The Super Bee originally left the factory equipped with a 383 V8 and automatic transmission, but has since been converted to a 4-speed manual, controlled through the unmistakable Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. Combined with the massive torque of the stroked 512, the 4-speed completely transforms the personality of the car and delivers the kind of old-school, hands-on Mopar driving experience enthusiasts love. The interior also retains the desirable factory-equipped Tic-Toc-Tach, further adding to the cars authentic Super Bee character. Magnum Force Front Suspension During the extensive restoration work completed in 2020, the original K-member was replaced with a Magnum Force Mopar Transformer K-Member Conversion. The system includes Magnum Force Transformer K-member B-Body forward struts 1-1/4-inch front sway bar Quick-ratio 151 manual rack-and-pinion steering Magnum Force 2-inch dropped spindles Adjustable front ride height and stiffness Silver powder-coated frame and suspension components New brake lines and related front-end components The car sits approximately 2.5 inches lower in front and 4 inches lower in the rear, creating an aggressive stance without sacrificing its street-driven character. Only approximately 500 miles have been accumulated since this portion of the build was completed. Wilwood Brakes Stopping power has been substantially upgraded with Wilwood 12.19-inch drilled front disc brakes and black 4-piston calipers. Combined with the modernized suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, these upgrades give the car significantly improved road manners compared with a stock late-1960s B-body. Extensive Structural Restoration The body and chassis received substantial professional restoration work in 2020. Work included replacement or repair of the Floors through the rear-seat area Frame rails Rockers Inner fender wells Front K-member Cowl Firewall The new rockers and underside were finished in black, while the engine compartment was also intentionally finished in black for a clean, purposeful appearance. The paint presents very well overall and shows nicely at local shows, but it is being represented accurately as high-quality driver condition rather than concours or flawless show paint. There are imperfections throughout consistent with a car thats actually driven and enjoyed. One-Off Schott Performance Wheels The stance is completed by a set of one-off Schott Performance Accelerator S Concave wheels, custom sized specifically for this Super Bee. The wheels are finished in polished aluminum with satin black ceramic-painted accents. Front 18x8 with 4.5-inch backspacing Rear 20x10.5 with 5.25-inch backspacing The staggered combination works exceptionally well with the lowered suspension and gives the car an aggressive modern Pro-Touring appearance without losing its classic Mopar identity. Interior The interior presents very nicely while retaining the purposeful feel of a classic muscle car. The carpeting and seat upholstery have been replaced, and Dynamat sound and heat insulation was installed beneath the carpeting throughout the cabin. The centerpiece remains that iconic Hurst Pistol Grip 4-speed shifter, providing exactly the kind of hands-on driving experience youd expect from a serious big-block Super Bee. The car is also equipped with the classic Tic-Toc-Tach instrumentation. Upgraded Fuel System - Holley Sniper EFI Ready The fuel system has already been extensively upgraded and prepared for electronic fuel injection. A new Tanks Inc. fuel tank houses a Holley 65 PSI in-tank fuel pump with HydraMat, complemented by a Holley bypass fuel-pressure regulator and PTFE AN fuel lines and fittings. A Holley Sniper EFI system and regulator are included with the sale. The Sniper wiring and AFR/O2 sensor have already been installed, leaving the system prepared for final installation and tuning should the next owner choose to complete the EFI conversion. This Super Bee has been built to drive, not simply sit under a cover. There is currently a very minor drip from the transmission area, amounting to only a few drops after sitting for a couple of weeks. There is no noticeable fluid loss during regular driving. The paint has some imperfections and is not represented as show quality, and the interior shows some normal wear despite the newer upholstery and carpeting. Those details are reflected honestly rather than trying to present the car as something it isnt. What it is, however, is a very clean, extremely strong-running and professionally upgraded genuine 1969 Super Bee with serious money and effort invested in all the right areas. Summary This 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee offers an impressive combination of classic Mopar heritage and thoughtfully engineered modern performance. Beginning life as a genuine 383 automatic Super Bee, it has evolved into a formidable street machine powered by a dyno- proven 512ci roller V8 producing 517.8 horsepower and an enormous 610.3 lb-ft of torque. Add the 4-speed manual with Hurst Pistol Grip, Magnum Force suspension, quick-ratio rack- and-pinion steering, Wilwood brakes, one-off Schott wheels, extensive structural restoration, and EFI-ready fuel system, and the result is a Super Bee thats every bit as enjoyable from behind the wheel as it is sitting at a car show. It isnt a concours restoration, and it isnt pretending to be. Its a powerful, well- sorted, extensively upgraded Super Bee built to be driven hard, cruised comfortably, and enjoyed regularly.
