DESCRIPTION:
1955 Ford Thunderbird Resto Mod powered by a 347 cu. in. ‘stroker motor’ and backed by a C4 automatic transmission. This ‘Bird is wearing a repaint of its original Torch Red with a reupholstered factory style red & white vinyl interior. Total mileage is estimated at 5,000 since the build was completed approximately 12 years ago. It is a multiple show winner, sounds awesome, and a blast to drive. No disappointments.

The 347 cu. in. motor is treated to a recently rebuilt Carter 650 cfm carburetor, Edelbrock Endurashine intake manifold, aluminum cylinder heads, ‘lumpy’ hydraulic cam, MSD ignition and 6AL box, custom aluminum radiator, thermostatically controlled electric fan, electric fuel pump, electric water pump, shorty headers, FlowMaster mufflers, and 2 ½” custom exhaust exiting through the bumper.
The C4 3-speed automatic transmission shifts using a modified stock appearing shifter with a 2500 rpm stall converter and deep pan.
The chassis has upgrades which include disc brakes up front, new shocks, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, steering components (manual), electric parking brake, 18” polished aluminum wheels with new 225/45R/18 Cooper radial tires (2026). Frame looks to be in excellent condition and to have been prepped and painted.
The body seems very solid and in good condition. The paint appears to be a single-stage urethane which shows well, but is not perfect. Some age-related blemishes are showing (see photos). The white convertible top is new and the painted factory removeable top is in excellent condition and includes new weather stripping. All the exterior chrome is in excellent condition. Exterior glass looks good too and the windows go up and down easily.
The interior has had new carpeting, upholstery, and door panels. The TBird was also converted to 12-volt and had the dashboard rewired. Factory gauges function including the fuel, temperature, and odometer/speedometer. Custom mounted aftermarket tachometer is nicely done with under-dash water temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter gauges. The AM/FM/USB radio is a ‘retro’ model with 3 speakers.
