"Ford had a real hit on its hands when the Mustang launched on
April 17, 1964. Sharing lots of parts with the Falcon sedan, the
original Mustang set records, clearing a million sold in 23 months.
The Mustang was successful because it had an attractive design and
an inexpensive starting price, and it could be optioned out pretty
much however you wanted it. You could get an inline-6 Mustang
outfitted with all the luxury bells and whistles, or you could buy
a stripped-out speed-demon car with a V8 and the right gearing for
the Saturday night drags." - Jalopnik.com
This 1964 Ford Mustang originally Twilight Turquoise is now
featured in Rangoon Red with a black vinyl top and black interior.
It is powered by a 260 cubic inch V8 motor with 2-barrel carburetor
paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The black interior
presents well with front bucket seats, a floor shifter, and air
conditioning. This Mustang has been mechanically upgraded with
four-wheel power disc brakes, refreshed front and rear suspension,
and a comprehensive tune-up.
Upon inspection of the underside of this Mustang, you will find a
solid floor, trunk, and shock towers. The red paint presents nicely
from ten feet away with a great shine, though closer inspection
shows some paint imperfections throughout the body and under the
vinyl top.
Early Ford Mustangs have long been a desirable part of the classic
car market. Significant investment has already been made in this
Mustang to make it safe and dependable to drive. Enjoy it as-is or
invest further in cosmetic improvements to elevate it to
collector-quality condition.
