1948 Chevrolet 3100 - Custom Pickup

The first major redesign for Chevy trucks after WWII were first available to the public in June of 1947. These were known as the "Advance Design" series. They were advertised as being both larger and stronger than previous designs but also sleeker in comparison to the AK series. Up until 1955, when a new series was introduced, these Chevy trucks were number 1 in sales in the US. Clearly the public wanted transportation that could also be put to work. This very nicely built '48 is a 3100 meaning it is the 1/2 ton model. It has had meticulous records kept of everything that has been done to it down to the exact date. The all steel body is very solid and all rust free. It is painted in a Porsche Amaranth Violet and Graphite Gray custom two tone paint job with a thin Orange pinstripe separating them. Up front it has a nicely chromed bumper and the grill has been painted Violet to match. In the rear however a custom roll pan was made and houses the the custom tail lights. That's not all though because the tailgate has been shaved of any handles and the bedside ends modified as well to be covered. The tinted glass on the truck is all in good shape and it is a 5 window which is more desirable and designed to provide better visibility for the driver. The doors have been shaved and it now opens via electric door poppers. One feature modern trucks miss out on are the beautiful wood beds with stainless runners which are always a highlight on these classic pickups. Under all four corners sit new 17 inch Ridler Charcoal wheels with Falken Pro G5 CSV tires.

The engine compartment of the truck is very worthy of showing off and houses a 350ci Chevy small block motor that runs great. The block/heads are painted to match the body and fitted with nice chrome Chevrolet valve covers, a chrome triangle air cleaner, chrome alternator, purple Taylor spark plug wires and an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. The engine compartment itself even looks good with a custom smoothed/painted firewall and painted inner fenders. Cooling is provided via the aluminum radiator and large electric fan with shroud. The truck has a really nice sound with headers into dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Paired with the motor is a TH350 automatic transferring power back to the 10 bolt rear end. Disc brakes have been added up front as well as a power rack & pinion steering system making the truck a breeze to cruise around in. It really is a nice driver and will get you wherever you need to go in style.

The inside of it is all custom and has a custom bench seat with folding center arm rest. It has nice Gray upholstery on the seat with a combo of Gray and Purple used on the custom door panels. Look up and you will see that Purple/Gray theme is also featured on the headliner. It is very well done and in great condition. The dash is nicely painted and houses the custom mounted VDO gauges in billet bezels. Under the dash is an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo along with an aftermarket AC/Heat system. In the drivers seat you will be greeted with a Gray leather wrapped LeCarra steering wheel on top of a tilt column with column shift to take you on your journey. Other nice features include the power windows with chrome switches and billet pedals.

This is a very well done truck that has no problem getting attention and it runs great. Plus with such detailed records you can tell it was well cared for. For example, a 30 amp fuse was replaced in October 2021, the peep mirrors were replaced in February of 2022, the rear shocks were replaced in March of 2024, and that's just to name a few examples of records. It has a good clear Texas title and is ready for a new home.
