1982 Mazda RX-7 - 1.1L Rotary, 5-Speed Manual, Classic Japanese
Sports Car
Classic Cars of Sarasota is proud to offer this distinctive 1982
Mazda RX-7, a classic example of Mazda's lightweight,
rotary-powered sports car. Finished in Gold over a Brown cloth and
vinyl bucket-seat interior, this first-generation RX-7 delivers the
unique driving experience that has made the model a cult classic
among enthusiasts.
Power comes from Mazda's legendary 1.1-liter 12A twin-rotor Wankel
rotary engine, paired with a desirable 5-speed manual transmission.
Lightweight and exceptionally well balanced, the first-generation
RX-7 was engineered around a near 50/50 weight distribution and
weighed less than 2,500 pounds, giving it agile and responsive
handling.
The Series 2 "FB" RX-7 features the unmistakable styling that made
these cars so popular, including pop-up headlights and a rear glass
hatch. Its compact proportions, low weight, and high-revving rotary
engine created an engaging alternative to traditional
piston-powered sports cars.
Inside, the Brown cloth and vinyl bucket-seat interior provides a
comfortable and period-correct setting. Modern convenience is added
with a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo and air conditioning, while seat belts
provide additional safety. The braking system features front disc
brakes and rear drums with power assistance.
The 1982 Mazda RX-7 represents an important chapter in Japanese
sports-car history. Lightweight, nimble, distinctive, and powered
by Mazda's unique rotary engine, this FB-generation RX-7 has the
character that continues to attract collectors and driving
enthusiasts today.
