This 1976 Jeep CJ5 Bicentennial Edition re-creation is powered by
its original 304ci V-8 engine mated to a three-speed manual
transmission. The engine was rebuilt to factory specifications, and
the entire drivetrain was gone through. Non-original changes
include exhaust headers, a four-barrel carburetor and electronic
ignition, with the original parts retained. The body was
acid-dipped before undergoing a rotisserie body and paint process
as a tribute to the 1976 Bicentennial Edition Super Jeep. The
inside and underside of the body were coated with white Line-X. The
interior features a 60/40 split-bench front seat of the type found
on some CJ8s. This Jeep has a Renegade-style Levi's upholstered
seat using original Levi's Edition vinyl with original 1970s Levi
orange tabs sewn in. There are approximately 380 miles on the
12-year-old restoration.
