Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer this stunning
1968 Chevrolet C10 Short Wheelbase Pickup, a beautifully restored
and extensively modified Action Line C10 that blends iconic classic
truck styling with modern performance, suspension, comfort, and
drivability. Finished in a striking red exterior and complemented
by a custom Saddle leather interior, this true short-bed C10 has
been built to turn heads while remaining an enjoyable street
cruiser. With over $80,000 reportedly invested into the truck, this
is a serious build with extensive work already completed.
Power comes from a 5.3L fuel-injected LS V8 paired with a Turbo 400
3-speed automatic transmission. The LS runs strong and is equipped
with ceramic-coated headers, full dual exhaust with aftermarket
mufflers, and a cold-air intake. Cooling is handled by an aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans, helping the truck maintain proper
operating temperature even during hot Texas driving. A 12-bolt rear
end provides a strong foundation for the LS-powered drivetrain and
allows the C10 to comfortably cruise at highway speeds.
One of the standout features of this build is its RideTech air ride
suspension. The air suspension gives the truck an aggressive
lowered appearance when parked while providing the ability to
adjust ride height and improve drivability on the road. The
suspension also includes a CPP lowering setup, C-notch, and
adjustable Panhard bar. Power steering and four-wheel power disc
brakes with drilled and slotted rotors provide improved handling,
steering response, and stopping performance.
The exterior is finished in red and presents exceptionally well,
with full chrome side moldings and the unmistakable styling that
makes the second-generation C10 so desirable. The true SWB
configuration gives the truck the classic proportions enthusiasts
look for, while the staggered Billet Specialties wheels give it a
muscular custom appearance. The underside and frame have been
finished as part of the build, and the body and bed were previously
removed from the frame during the restoration process. The floors,
frame, and inner areas received attention during the build,
resulting in a solid and highly presentable truck.
Inside, the C10 features a custom Saddle leather interior that
beautifully complements the red exterior. The custom bench seat,
matching door panels, carpeting, headliner, and interior trim give
the cabin a finished, upscale appearance while retaining the
character of a classic Chevrolet pickup. A tilt steering column
with a Forever Sharp steering wheel, digital instrumentation, and
Pioneer audio system add modern convenience. The aftermarket
Classic Auto Air system blows cold, making this C10 especially well
suited for cruising in the Texas heat.
Additional features include power steering, four-wheel disc brakes,
RideTech air ride, 12-bolt rear end, Turbo 400 automatic
transmission, fuel injection, cold-air intake, aluminum radiator
with dual electric fans, dual exhaust, aftermarket mufflers,
digital gauges, Pioneer audio, and Billet Specialties wheels. The
truck has also been thoroughly driven and tested and is described
as an excellent-running and driving C10.
With its true short-wheelbase configuration, 5.3L LS V8, Turbo 400
automatic, 12-bolt rear end, RideTech air ride, four-wheel power
disc brakes, cold A/C, custom Saddle leather interior, Billet
Specialties wheels, and over $80,000 reportedly invested, this 1968
Chevrolet C10 is an impressive classic truck built with both style
and performance in mind. It offers the timeless appeal of an Action
Line C10 with the upgrades and comfort expected from a modern
restomod. Whether you're looking for a high-impact show cruiser, a
comfortable weekend driver, or a standout addition to your
collection, this C10 is ready to be enjoyed.
