This 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder re-creation is powered by a Pat Downs
Performance 2332cc engine producing 160hp with dual Weber
carburetors, paired with a Rancho Performance manual transmission
with 3.44:1 Freeway Flyer gear set. The build was completed by
Vintage Motorcars in Hawaiian Gardens, California. The
powder-coated tube frame is finished in red and includes four-wheel
disc brakes to provide stopping power, and a 550 Spyder e-brake
handle is installed inside. The exterior features custom James Dean
"Little Bastard" graphics, leather trunk straps, an interchangeable
full Plexiglas windshield and single-driver Plexiglas windscreen
and a removable half-tonneau hard cover. It rides on silver Vintage
190 aluminum wheels with aluminum disc covers. The red leather
interior features gray carpet, a headrest with cushion, 2-inch Crow
lap belts, a passenger grab handle, Speedhut 550-style gauges and
an Ivory banjo steering wheel. A hidden sound system provides
Bluetooth connectivity to a phone.
