The Honda S2000 is on many all time best lists for its analogue driving experience, overall feel and fit/finish. Exceptional reliability and incredible performance. The famed VTEC engine allows for a dual personality unlike almost any other sports car on the road. Keep it below 5000 RPM and it is as docile as an Accord. Open the throttle up to it's sonorous 9000 RPM redline---and you have sound that is akin to a Formula One race car. It's about as much fun as you can possibly have sitting down for the money. The S2000's stellar reputation has made it one of the most sought after entry level "exotics" available today.
Unfortunately, most of the S2000 series one cars have been raced, modified or molested into oblivion. There are low mile examples on the market pushing the $60K price barrier. This particular example has very reasonable low miles (78K) and very clearly never abused or hot rodded. Driven a scant 3000 miles per year. Driving Experience
The six speed transmission shifts are buttery smooth with one of the easiest engagements we've seen in a manual. If you are inexperienced with a stick shift, this is the one to learn on. Simply a pleasure to drive. Engine sings all the way to "high C". Braking and overall handling are in a category in which all sports cars should be judged. If driven calmly it will return amazing fuel economy. Even when pushed, it uses a fraction of the fuel used by the big V8s with similar performance.
