There are Galaxies you cruise to the local show... and then there
are Galaxies that make damn sure everybody knows when you've
arrived.
This 1963 Ford Galaxie Convertible takes old-school full-size Ford
attitude and cranks the insanity all the way up. Finished in White
with killer Red Paisley accents and topped with a Red convertible
top, this beast has the kind of look that's impossible to mistake
for anything else.
And that wild exterior is just the opening act.
Under the hood sits a massive 514 cubic-inch Ford big block with an
8-71 blower sticking proudly up where it belongs. Feeding the
monster is a pair of Holley 600 CFM carburetors, while an MSD
billet boost ignition system handles the spark. An aluminum
radiator helps keep all 514 cubes under control when the
temperature-and the boost-starts climbing.
This isn't some dressed-up cruiser with a blower bolted on for
show. This son of a bitch was built to use it.
Backing the blown big block is a stout C6 automatic transmission
equipped with an SFI-rated flexplate and deep aluminum transmission
pan. Out back, Ford's legendary 9-inch rear end gets the call with
a limited-slip differential and nasty 4.11 gears.
And when you crawl underneath, the attitude doesn't stop. A set of
chrome ladder bars plants the rear end and adds even more
old-school Pro Street flavor to a car already overflowing with
it.
Drop the Red top, fire up that blown 514, and you've got nearly 18
feet of classic Ford ready to terrorize the boulevard.
This isn't subtle.
It isn't supposed to be.
It's a blown, big-block, drop-top Galaxie with 4.11 gears-and
that's about as badass as 1960s Ford gets.
