Vehicle Description

This 1966 Ford F-250 4x4 combines classic Ford styling with an extensively upgraded 12-valve Cummins drivetrain and a thoughtfully assembled heavy-duty chassis. Built on a 1972 Ford Highboy frame, the truck retains the unmistakable stance and character of a vintage Ford 4x4 while incorporating substantial upgrades throughout the engine, drivetrain, braking, steering, cooling, and electrical systems.Under the hood is a 1993 5.9L 12-valve Cummins turbo diesel. Documentation accompanying the truck details a comprehensive engine refresh and numerous performance and reliability upgrades, including KDP correction, a built Bosch VE injection pump by Goff?s Diesel, 5x14 injectors, Hamilton 60 lb valve springs and heavy-duty pushrods, PDD hardened head bolts, chromoly retainers, new valves and seals, and a PDD billet tappet cover. The cylinder head was professionally cleaned, resurfaced, and received a valve job during the build. The Cummins is equipped with an HE351 turbocharger featuring a billet compressor wheel and adjustable wastegate, along with a PDD 3-piece exhaust manifold, Pusher intake, THD high-pressure lift pump, and a full 4-inch MBRP exhaust. A water-to-air intercooler operates on its own dedicated cooling circuit utilizing an electric circulation pump and a heat exchanger mounted beneath the bed. Engine cooling is handled by a Champion 3-core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.Backing the Cummins is a South Bend single-disc clutch and new flywheel feeding a fully rebuilt Getrag G360 5-speed manual transmission. The G360 received new synchronizers and a new input shaft during the build. From there, power is routed through a fully rebuilt divorced NP205 transfer case equipped with heavy-duty 1410-series yokes. Custom front, rear, and intermediate driveshafts were built by Slyco Drivelines. The 1972 Highboy chassis is equipped with a rebuilt 1976 Dana 44 open-knuckle front axle with Warn locking hubs and a rebuilt GM 10.5-inch 14-bolt full-floating rear axle with 4.10 gearing. Four-wheel disc brakes, a Battle Born Super Duty hydroboost system, all-new brake lines, a Blue Top steering box, and custom 1-ton-style steering linkage further enhance the chassis. The truck rides on 35x11.50R16LT Nitto Recon Grappler A/T tires mounted on freshly powder-coated factory Ford 16-inch steel wheels. The body is finished in a period-correct two-tone base/clear paint scheme, with the firewall, engine compartment, and interior finished to match. The bed features a color-matched spray-in liner and a toolbox incorporating a 45-gallon diesel fuel tank, with the AGM battery also relocated to the toolbox. Body work performed during the build included localized floor repairs, a repaired section of the inner bed wall, and installation of a new core support. A few pinholes remain present in the bed floor.Inside, a Dakota Digital dash is complemented by boost and EGT gauges, a RetroSound radio, and a custom black upholstered bench seat with houndstooth inserts. Additional updates include new carpet, headliner, sill plates, weatherstripping, windshield, heater hoses and fan, along with Kilmat sound-deadening material installed in the floors and doors. The Dakota Digital odometer currently displays 6 miles; actual chassis and vehicle mileage is unknown.Accompanied by an extensive collection of receipts and build documentation, this F-250 brings together the timeless appearance of a 1960s Ford pickup with a carefully developed 12-valve Cummins powertrain, rebuilt heavy-duty driveline, upgraded chassis, and period-inspired presentation.1993 5.9L 12-valve Cummins turbo dieselDocumented Cummins engine refresh and performance upgradesBuilt Bosch VE injection pump by Goff?s Diesel5x14 injectorsHamilton 60 lb valve springs and heavy-duty pushrodsPDD hardened head bolts, chromoly retainers, and billet tappet coverHE351 turbocharger with billet compressor wheel and adjustable wastegatePDD 3-piece exhaust manifoldPusher intake and THD high-pressure lift pumpWater-to-air intercooler with dedicated cooling systemChampion 3-core aluminum radiator with dual electric fansFull 4-inch MBRP exhaustSouth Bend single-disc clutch with new flywheelFully rebuilt Getrag G360 5-speed manual transmissionFully rebuilt divorced NP205 transfer caseCustom Slyco front, rear, and intermediate driveshafts1972 Ford Highboy chassisRebuilt 1976 Dana 44 open-knuckle front axle with Warn locking hubsRebuilt GM 10.5-inch 14-bolt full-floating rear axle4.10 gearingFour-wheel disc brakes with Battle Born Super Duty hydroboostBlue Top steering box with custom 1-ton steering linkageNitto Recon Grappler A/T 35x11.50R16LT tiresPowder-coated factory Ford 16-inch steel wheelsPeriod-correct two-tone base/clear paintColor-matched spray-in bedlinerBed-mounted toolbox with integrated 45-gallon diesel fuel tankDakota Digital dash with boost and EGT gaugesDakota Digital odometer currently displays 6 milesRetroSound radioCustom black upholstered bench seat with houndstooth insertsNew carpet, headliner, sill plates, weatherstripping, and windshieldKilmat sound deadening in floors and doorsExtensive build documentation and receiptsClean Pennsylvania title DISCLAIMER MAXmotive specializes in collectible classic and custom vehicles.
