Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present
this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, finished in a bold orange exterior
over a black leather interior. This 'Cuda combines one of Mopar's
most recognizable body styles with an extensive Pro-Touring build
designed around big-block power, upgraded handling, braking, and
modern comfort.
Under the hood is a 471 CID stroker V8 featuring a custom-built
1188 CFM NITTO 555s carburetor, polished stainless-steel fuel tank
with electric fuel pump, braided stainless fuel lines, and a McLeod
Gold twin-disc street-strip clutch. Power is sent through a Passon
855 5-speed manual transmission and back to a narrowed 8 3/4-inch
rear end with 3.54 gears, a Detroit Locker, 35-spline axles, and
high-performance 1350 universal joints. A custom 3-inch stainless
exhaust system with electric cutouts completes the performance
package.
The Pro-Touring suspension incorporates AlterKtion components up
front, Street-Lynx components in the rear, and Reilly Motorsports
hardware. Wilwood performance disc brakes are fitted at all four
corners, along with Viking Performance coilovers and
dual-adjustable components. Hydroboost power brakes with custom
stainless lines and fittings provide additional braking assistance,
while a custom-built aluminum radiator with an oversized SPAL fan
helps manage engine temperatures.
Inside, the black leather cabin features Pro-Touring bucket seats,
AutoMeter Pro Comp electronic gauges, a custom dash, center
console, and custom-made front and rear door panels. Vintage Air
provides heating and air conditioning, while power windows, a power
rack-and-pinion steering system, and a Pioneer sound system add
modern convenience. Additional details include a Flaming River tilt
steering column, IDIDIT chrome tilt steering column components, and
limo-tinted glass.
The build also incorporates a custom aluminum driveshaft, MSD 6AL
Plus ignition box, MSD 8MM plug wires, relocated battery, remote
oil filtration system, and numerous other custom touches
throughout. According to the provided information, the engine has
approximately 1,000 miles on it.
With its 471 CID stroker V8, Passon 5-speed manual, extensively
upgraded Pro-Touring suspension, four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes,
custom drivetrain, Vintage Air, and heavily updated interior, this
1970 Plymouth Barracuda brings together classic Mopar styling and
an extensive performance-focused build.
