As a 1940 Ford Convertible it is part of the Ford De Luxe line. The
De Luxe Ford featured a three-part grille with horizontal bars,
body-color vertical bars, and a more refined interior compared to
the Standard.
The '40 Ford De Luxe features a rebuilt 221 cubic inch (3.6L)
flathead V8, and a rebuilt three-speed manual transmission by Mac
VanPelt. Engine build and transmission was done in 2022. Comes with
all documents and photos of build. The Red's Headers dual exhaust
with Smithy Mufflers has that beautiful Flathead sound. The
flathead runs smooth with amazing amount of power. The three on the
tree is very easy to shift. A must have for modern day driving an
upgraded to front disc brakes. To help start an electric fuel pump
with the switch in the glove box. The fuel tank has been replaced
with a modern "poly" tank (no rust).
Many were customized in the postwar era, but this beauty is as
close to original as it comes. The body is clean of any rust. The
gaps, fit and finish are straight and true. The doors open and
close easily. All the glass is free of any imperfections. The
windows roll up and down smoothly. All the chrome and bright work
are at a show level. the power top operated by vacuum cylinders
have also been rebuilt. Easy to use the top is controlled by a
dash-mounted vacuum-operated switch. Under the dash driver's side
of steering wheel. A push to close and pull to open. The leather
interior has that used finish that is very popular today. The dash
has the original gauge cluster. The heater box has been rebuilt and
works great it's also a defroster. Comes with all photos of before
and after build. The radio is a modern version made to appear to be
original but has the AM/FM/Bluetooth by Joes Classic Radio.
Running on Diamondback Auburn Deluxe Radial tires with the wide
whitewalls.
