Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present
this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible, finished in a
sleek Lexus Black exterior. This C3 has received an extensive list
of mechanical, exterior, and interior upgrades while retaining the
unmistakable proportions and styling that made the early Stingray
one of Chevrolet's most recognizable performance cars.
Under the hood is a 454 CID big-block V8 bored to 468 cubic inches
and equipped with headers, an Edelbrock Performer intake, and a
Holley 750 four-barrel carburetor. Cooling is handled by an
aluminum radiator with twin SPAL electric puller fans. Power is
sent through a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission, while the rear
end has also been rebuilt. Additional upgrades include Vintage Air
conditioning, a new power steering ram and lines, and newer dual
exhaust with updated mufflers and tips.
The exterior was stripped and refinished in Lexus Black and
features an L88-style big-block hood with a Trac Spec vent and
push-style hood pins. The original vacuum-operated headlight system
has been replaced with electric pop-up headlights featuring LED
lighting. Additional exterior updates include new side vent trim,
new front grilles, LED taillights, painted bumpers, updated
mirrors, new weatherstripping, and a new windshield. The Boss
wheels were also refinished to complement the exterior.
Inside, the cabin has been extensively reworked with racing seats
and shoulder harnesses, along with renewed dash, door panel, and
console finishes. New carpeting has been installed, and KillMat
sound and heat insulation was added throughout the interior. The
instrument cluster and dashboard were also disassembled and
reworked, while the rear storage compartment received new doors and
carpeting. The removable hardtop was stripped and refinished in
black vinyl.
Additional mechanical updates include four-wheel disc brakes, a new
gas tank and sending unit, new emergency brake lever and cables,
and various renewed door hardware. The fresh-air vent levers on the
console are nonfunctional and retained for appearance, while
Vintage Air provides cabin climate control. Windshield wipers are
currently not installed, though hardware is included with the
vehicle.
With its 468 CID big-block V8, rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission,
Holley carburetor, Edelbrock intake, SPAL electric fans, electric
pop-up headlights, upgraded interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and
aggressive Lexus Black presentation, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette
Stingray blends classic C3 style with an extensive collection of
performance and drivability upgrades.
