Absolutely stunning, 40 Ford Deluxe Convertible. Complete, bare metal restoration restomod build…Built in the look of a period 1950’s hotrod…This is the final project of my father and noted former Ford dealer and hot rod builder, Tom Addis. Tom collaborated with noted builders, Jack Scanlon & Chris Ledgerwood, of Platinum Unlimited, who completed all body and paint work and final assembly on the car. Tom’s previous projects include a 32 Ford with original Ardun overhead valve flathead heads, a 38 Ford Convertible Sedan, a gorgeous 1939 Mercury Woody, and countless other classics.
We loaded this all-steel car out of a barn here in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The previous owners were friends who had owned this car for years, tracing back to their time in Riverside, California. Please understand that everything on this car is either brand new, re-chromed, or taken down to bare metal…powder coated frame, new fuel system/tank/lines, new electrical, new brakes, interior, top, etc.…essentially a new 50’s hot rod 40 Ford Convertible with only 500 miles on the clock after completion.
Old meets new with 1950’s nostalgic features including painted steel wheels with stainless beauty rings and original Mercury hubcaps, beautiful black paint, blue dots, and a stunning, new power convertible top. As you can see from the pictures, this is a flawless build, starting with a ‘Ford-in-a-Ford’ 351 mated to a Ford C4 automatic transmission. Mechanical details include Mustang II coil-over front suspension, power steering, disc brakes, modernized running gear, etc.The interior is dominated by beautiful brown leather. Add to this the previously mentioned power convertible top, heat and air conditioning, power windows actuated by pushing on the stock window cranks, power locks, turn signals, and a Kenwood CD/stereo w/satellite and back-up camera. A nice touch is the LED gear shift indicator, tastefully integrated into the dash.
This car is kept spotless, in a radiant floor-heated garage, and ready for its next owner. I HAVE 2 PHOTO ALBUMS THAT DOCUMENT THIS BUILD FROM BARE METAL TO FINISHED PAINT... If you are seriously interested, please come and view this beauty. I’ll gladly show it to you.
