This 1969 Pontiac Firebird Restomod is a no-expense-spared,
twin-turbo street and strip build combining classic Trans
Am-inspired styling with serious modern performance. At its heart
is a GM Performance LS3-based 416ci stroker built specifically for
boost, featuring a SCAT forged crankshaft, Callies forged
connecting rods, custom JE-coated pistons, Katech piston oil
squirters, ARP main and head studs, PRC ported cylinder heads,
Athena stainless O-ring head gaskets, Manton pushrods and trunnion
kit, a custom turbo camshaft, Moroso trap-door oil pan, high-volume
oil pump, and Meziere electric water pump. Induction is handled by
a Precision Metalcraft fabricated intake manifold with a GM
drive-by-wire throttle body, while ignition duties are managed by
GM LS3 coils, Granatelli plug wires, and a GM ECU. Butler Racing
fabricated valve covers complete the highly detailed engine
compartment. Forced induction comes from a pair of Precision 6266
CEA ball-bearing turbochargers supported by Precision wastegates,
an STS blow-off valve, Accusump turbo aftercooler, and a massive
Treadstone 1,300-horsepower-rated intercooler. Power is routed
through a TCI-built 4L80E transmission equipped with a lower first
gear, red clutches, finned deep oil pan, full-reverse manual valve
body, trans brake, TCI transmission cooler, PTC 9-inch turbo torque
converter, TCI SFI flexplate, and SFI Kevlar transmission blanket.
A Denny's nitrous-proof driveshaft transfers power to a Ford 9-inch
rear end fitted with a factory Ford spool, 3.73 street gears,
28-spline Currie axles, and 1/2-inch race studs. The fuel system is
equally substantial, utilizing Injector Dynamics ID1000 injectors,
dual Aeromotive 340 Stealth pumps, a Holley boost-referenced
fuel-pressure regulator, a 26-gallon fuel-injection-ready
factory-style tank, stainless braided fuel lines, and stainless
hard lines. An Accusump 3-quart pre-oiler and custom crankcase
ventilation catch can provide additional engine protection. Cooling
and electrical upgrades include an aluminum radiator, Derale shroud
with dual electric fans, 180-amp one-wire alternator, MSD 2-step
and tach adapter, and a NASCAR-style low-drag, high-RPM
power-steering pump. A lime-green Stroud parachute is also
included. The chassis has been extensively upgraded to complement
the Firebird's performance capability. A TCI tubular front subframe
incorporates polished stainless control arms, billet adjustable
shocks, polished billet 2-inch aluminum drop spindles, Wilwood
polished billet hubs, a chrome 1-1/4-inch front stabilizer bar, and
power rack-and-pinion steering. The rear suspension features a
chrome-moly adjustable four-link with polished billet adjustable
coil-over shocks and a polished billet rear stabilizer bar. Tubular
subframe connectors and a tubular transmission crossmember further
reinforce the chassis. Braking is handled by Wilwood slotted and
cross-drilled disc brakes at all four corners, along with a Wilwood
master cylinder, line lock, stainless brake lines, and braided
stainless hoses. A complete 3-1/2-inch stainless-steel exhaust
system features Quick Time Performance electric cutouts with side
exits behind the front tires, polished MagnaFlow mufflers, full
polished tailpipes, turbo blankets, and wrapped exhaust piping. The
exterior carries an unmistakable Trans Am influence, highlighted by
a custom Trans Am hood with fiberglass skin over a steel frame,
Trans Am side scoops and rear spoiler, one-off stainless-steel
grilles, custom-fabricated radiator support, Ringbrothers billet
hood hinges, and hood pins. The body is finished in striking House
of Kolor candy-lime paint with Kameleon ghost Trans Am stripes,
while digital sequential taillights and billet taillight trim add a
modern finishing touch. Inside, the Firebird blends race-ready
equipment with street-oriented comfort. Features include a 10-point
roll cage, custom parachute release, Ididit steering column, billet
steering controls and steering wheel, factory bucket seats
upholstered in race-seat style, race harness, window safety net,
custom dashboard and gauges, Shifnoid electronic shift solenoid,
and a B&M ratchet shifter. Vintage Air heat and defrost and an
Alpine stereo provide additional drivability and comfort. Built
with an extensive list of premium components and engineered around
a forged 416ci LS3 and twin Precision turbochargers, this 1969
Pontiac Firebird represents an exceptionally comprehensive restomod
that combines aggressive Trans Am-inspired styling, modern chassis
technology, and formidable boosted V8 performance. VIN:
