1970 Plymouth 'Cuda AAR – Numbers Matching, Partially Restored by Pedal to the Metal
340 Six Barrel V8 · Automatic Transmission · EV2 Tor Red
Pedal to the Metal Muscle Cars proudly presents this 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda AAR, one of the rarest and most iconic muscle cars ever built. Fully numbers matching, with its original 340 Six Barrel V8 and automatic transmission, this 'Cuda is a true collector's gem.
The Legend of the AAR
Built for homologation to race in the SCCA Trans-Am series, the 1970 AAR, short for All American Racer, is a special breed of muscle car. Its aggressive side-exit exhaust, lightweight fiberglass hood, and potent Six Barrel carburetor setup delivered track-inspired performance straight from the factory. Genuine numbers-matching AARs are now highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The Car
Partially restored by Pedal to the Metal, this 'Cuda received professional attention underneath and on the exterior, including new undercoating and a high-quality repaint. The car left the factory finished in F8 Green Metallic, a correct and desirable factory color, and was repainted at some point in its life to EV2 Tor Red, itself a factory-offered color on the 1970 'Cuda lineup. The repaint was carried out to a high standard and the car presents very well in its current color. The body retains its original metal, and the undercarriage has been professionally cleaned and protected. Mechanically solid, this car is sharp, clean, and ready to enjoy.
The original 340 Six Barrel engine breathes through its triple carburetors and factory manifolds, delivering the signature AAR sound and performance. Paired with the matching automatic transmission, it shifts smoothly and drives beautifully, perfect for cruising or shows.
The Exterior
Factory-offered EV2 Tor Red paint with fresh undercoating underneath. The original side-exit exhaust and fiberglass hood remain in place, though the current hood will be replaced soon due to damage. Classic AAR black strobe stripes complete the look, and the body is clean and well maintained with minimal wear.
The Interior
Rallye instrument cluster and bucket seat interior. Original seats, carpets, and sill plates in great condition, with minor wear consistent with an older restoration but fully functional and authentic throughout.
Engine & Drivetrain
Original numbers-matching 340 Six Barrel V8 paired with the matching automatic transmission. Factory manifolds and triple carburetor setup are intact, delivering the signature AAR performance and sound.
Key Features
Factory side-exit exhaust and AAR strobe stripes, lightweight fiberglass hood with functional fresh air scoop, Rallye instrument cluster, bucket seat interior, and correct Rallye wheels wearing Goodyear Polyglas tires.
Why This 'Cuda AAR
With production numbers far lower than standard 'Cudas, the 1970 AAR is climbing steadily in value. This numbers-matching example, partially restored by a Mopar specialist, is an excellent opportunity to own a piece of muscle car history with confidence.
