Very Special 30,407 Mile Survivor - Rare 409-409HP Motor

Belived to be an original 30,407 Mile Car with all original metal, mostly original paint and all original interior . The mechanics were all rebuilt and detailed to factory spec. This car came from the personal collection of the "409 Professor" John Darby. (He is the former NASCAR competition director and a renowned 409 expert) This car has been in his collection sense 2006. He purchased it from the Hendrick's Collection (The personal collection of Rick Hendrick, the Founder of Hendrick Motorsports, the winningest team in NASCAR Cup Series history) ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Rare 1962 409-409 hp motor (Non-Numbers matching)

The casting code indicates 1962 only, the stamped code QB indicates 409 hp

The Motor was Completely rebuild according to the previous owner

It has the Correct aluminum intake

The dual 4-barrel carbs were restored and has the correct choke tube and glass fuel bowl

Stock Exhaust manifolds, valve covers and big air cleaner

It has GM Hoses and Clamps

Correct Slant top radiator unique to 409's only

The motor compartment is detailed to concourse condition

Correct Muncie M-20 4-Speed manual transmission

Detailed Rear End with 3.55 Posi Gears

EXTERIOR

All original rust free metal

The body gaps are precise, doors and trunk click shut

The factory pinch welds are still showing along the lower 1/4s

Only Part of the car appears to have been repainted and over half of the car still seems to be in original paint

The paint presents itself real well but has minor flaws

Excellent Bumpers, Grill and Trim

Door Jambs are original including the weather striping

The poverty hubcaps are in mint shape with BFGoodrich Tires

UNDERSIDE

Underneath this car is very impressive, the floors are super solid and original.

Still has the factory red oxide primer with factory applied under coat in certain areas

The entire chassis has been cleaned, painted and detailed to factory specs including all the assembly line paint markings

The front end was rebuild with with new bushings, shocks, ballpoints and steering components it also has new bushings in the rear

Brakes have been restored

New Exaust System

INTERIOR

Very original from carpet to headliner and it is in very nice condition

It has the correct bench seat 4 speed spegatie shifter with original white shifter ball
