1965 Ford Mustang Hardtop – Original Factory 289 V8 – Factory A/C – One Family Since New
Original factory 289 V8 • Automatic transmission • Factory air conditioning • Wimbledon White with red interior • 123,792 miles shown • One-family ownership since new • Garage-kept since 2015 • No known rust issues • Original dealer window sticker • Original 1965 Registered Owner’s Manual • Extensive maintenance records
This Mustang has remained in our family since it was purchased new in 1965. My husband’s great-aunt watched the car roll off the truck at the dealership and drove it off the lot. She enjoyed the Mustang until she was no longer able to drive and gave it to my husband for Christmas in 1993.
He drove the Mustang regularly until 2015. It became a special part of our family life. Our three daughters called it “the Sunday car.” They remember riding in the back to church with the windows down while people watched us drive by. Selling it is bittersweet, and we hope its next owner will appreciate both the Mustang and the history that comes with it.
The car has been garage-kept since 2015 and is not currently running. It will require recommissioning after long-term storage, including fuel-system cleaning and routine service before being driven. We have chosen to describe the car candidly rather than attempt to represent it as mechanically sorted.
The Mustang retains its original factory 289 V8 and is accompanied by valuable documentation, including the original dealer window sticker, original 1965 Registered Owner’s Manual and a folder of maintenance records.
This is a special opportunity for someone who values originality, provenance and documented family history in an early Mustang.
